I thought Flametail would be a possible replacement for Texas S2 but taking a proper look at the details, Flametail's shorter stun is a deal breaker. Unfortunate because I thought she could replace Texas if/when Texas gets an alter in the future and I can no longer bring the original when I deploy the alter.

She may not have the higher stun but overall she's a better lane holder with her crazy dodge, nice that she can give some of it to others too. Also if you have Aak E2, she can dodge his damage and still get buffed and it makes her atk speed insane which combos with her talent to double strike after dodging.

Flametail is way more durable than Texas, you probably shouldn't compare them 1 to 1. Less stun, but the dodge adds a lot of survivability and she's overall tankier than Texas even without the dodge. She will be doing some decent damage while holding a lane

Just like everyone Nearl is my top priority cause of the bond I found when I joined the game. She was my most wanted defender, and now when she's stronger, she's a must get for me. But after reading the Maria Nearl story and Pinus Sylvestris stories, I have taken a liking to “Flametail” Sona too. Honestly if she's comes alongside Nearl I would consider myself very lucky. But am not gonna try getting her after I get Nearl. Might try a few pull, but not much since Bing chil-Ling is close too.

Overall she's a good lane holder. With her crazy dodge, and its nice that she can give some of it to other ops too. *PSA*: If you have Aak E2, she can dodge his damage and still get buffed. @@yuuka2298 its not copium but I appreciate the small amounts of disrespect you decided to sprinkle in your response. I never said Flametail is the best option. I'm just explaining that Flametail has uses and combos that I felt like pointing out. Overall Texas s2 will be considered better because the Stun is longer, but giving everyone dodge could be a niche use someone would want to make use of. And as far as her s3, no Bagpipe isnt comparable. Flametail s3 isnt pure damage, its also survivability. I could put Flametail in a lane by herself and with her s3 she would survive better or possibly longer than Bagpipe because all she gets effectively is a damage boost. Yes both of them get increased block count, but as a Pioneer she beats Bagpipe in that regard anyway. And tbh most things people use Aak for are for memes anyway, but turning a laneholder into a blender is a valid strat, especially considering shes one of the few ops who wouldnt take the full damage from his buff, so you wouldnt need to bring Shining or someone else just to protect/heal her. And her s2 dodge could be used to help other ops dodge Aaks damage from his buff as well. In the end it doesnt matter either way, the meta is bagpipe and flag bearers. Anyone doing anything different will probably be using Saga (like I am). And if they don't have those options or dont want to then theyll use either Flametail or Siege depending.

@@tigerfalco For clarity, Bagpipe S3L7 gives her +90% DEF for the duration alongside attacking three times at once. You could say that her LBB is also a survivability skill because of this, but Flametail has so much more opportunities to use her S3 compared to Bagpipe's S3 just because of the sheer lower DP cost overall and the fact that she has an 80% chance to null all kinds of damage. Either way, they both have different roles to fulfill. People can use what they want, honestly. A lot of people just love dissing what isn't the top meta.

I'd totally get for her. I tried her in CN serv. (friend account) and she is fun to play with dodging mechanics. Her performance maybe hard to use. But if you use correctly she can be very fun to play with. Especially in IS#2.

Texas gets more damage from being deployed alongside Siege so its compensated to an extent, but the closest you have to Texas is Flame because of her S2, despite the lower stun time, but I'd say she's more flexible in case you want her to fill in Texas' shoes or if you want an independent lane holder that has good survivability.

"Unlike her first skill the average DP generation (skill 3) is considered better". Because 0.33 DP/s with a 8 second ICD is somehow worse than 0.33 DP/s with a 9 second ICD. Also for those curious skill 2 is 0.325 DP/s with a 10 second ICD. All her skills are about the same, a rounding error in DP gen if your not hovering over her to fire off skills. Not sure if there is something weird going on but it seems a lot of people are saying (some) of Flametail's skills have bad DP gen. Not sure what they are comparing it to other than Myrtle to get that idea. Her DP/s is about par for the course compared to other 5/6* Pioneer Vanguards (0.33 DP/s with skill 1s, slightly worse with skill 2s). Siege/Saga CAN have better DP/s with their skill 2s but that requires Saga getting execution(s) or Siege having multiple deaths beside her per skill activation.

Got Flametail instead of Nearl. Not gonna lie, I'm sad. I got Texas and Scavenger as pioneer vanguards already and both of them are good enough for any map. Meanwhile Nearl is the only really good operator in the entire duelist archetype. This was probably the most brutal banner in terms of 6 star charcaters usefulness gap I've ever seen.
