They want freedom and they come to ORN( i was one of them). I started my preparation the day i left Delhi.

I think neither home is best nor delhi. . middle path can be used by going to other cities like prayagraj, bhopal, pune, patna as Most coaching centres branches are available in these cities

I shifted from Delhi to my home some time back. I get all the comforts at home. But somewhere I go into a comfort zone because here I don't have to worry about anything, Because of which you do not see the real struggle of UPSC aspirant and you go into your comfort zone. This affects studies a little bit. if you can study from home then it is a very good thing.

Money cost of prep is min- 30k-40k per month these days (Room, library, food, Zomato, travel, monthly needs, lil wants, occasional parties, occasional tours). Add to that the fact that you could actually be earning say,1.5L PM instead from a job- real difference is 2L PM= 24L PA.

I just vecated from Old Rajinder Nagar and came back to my home town last month. This is the best decision i made regarding UPSC preparation. Dont come to Delhi guys, its not worth it. It might ruin your entire preparation. Delhi is totally irrelevant for UPSC preparation today.

For people who think living at home while preparing is distracting, you could get a pg or rent near home which would be much more affordable or better still simply join a study hall or library in walking distance . I simply have my breakfast, go to a study room for 8-7 and then i go back and enjoy home cooked ghar ka saaf khana. Study halls cost me around 1k a month. This way you can get away from distractions and at the same time avoid unnecessary costs and living in wretched conditions.

Sir with online class there are also certain health issues that arise. Dark circles on eye ,pain in eyes, head ache etc
