Daniel great info! On 1 centers. PCGS in my opinion Grades too low, when you know for a fact it's a higher grade then they give you some grade that just doesn't make sense. I walked away from collecting the last 2 years cause I was so upset with the grade. But then I saw you pop up on my cell, and you dragged me back in for hope. Your the BEST and HONEST Teacher Collector's Need to watch. You even respond to us average people, the others don't. THANK YOU 😊. I have to let you know, You have a Twin Brother, everytime I see you on my phone, I say " That's Wayne Fuller!! He was a Radioman on the USS Constellation with me back in 81-82. You sound just like him also. Did you change your name? Ha, wish I knew how to send you the photo.

If you wondering whether or not to grade your coins. Even the smallest of blemishes will knock your coin back a point. Particularly on your Modern coins. Be thankfull that it's like this. The standard has to be set so high or high grades would be common and our coins would be worthless. Absoloutely perfect is what your looking for. Thanks for the video and not trying to draw an example.

I have had an extreme interest in numismatics for a few years now. I coin roll hunt and have spent many hours studying and trying to aquire as much knowledge as i can, and I am so grateful that you made this video. Some things have had me very curious as to the more specific requirements that seperate the different grades. Especially that area between EF, UC, and MS. Thank you! Your the only one who explains penny’s this well and how to grade them. We just sent in about 12 coins to pcgs. They were from 1963 to 1977. We got about 5 66’s and 5 65’s one 65 plus. We were surprised not to get one 67. They were in great condition but I noticed that the more tone they were the higher the grade was. I will subscribe! Keep talking penny’s 😊

The trick to worth, and value, and top dollar and so forth all comes down to finding the person who values their dollars less than what your item for sales is to you, at that moment in time.
@CoinHELPu Жыл бұрын
That is not how value works, we have a standard that determines values of most coins, and that is multiple people paying a medium price for a coin. This creates comps that we can average values from. I could sell a coin worth a $1 for $1,000 to a dummy, but that doesn't mean the coin is now worth $1,000 if several have been selling for only a $1.
@dont.ripfuller6587 Жыл бұрын
@@CoinHELPu Correct, perhaps I used the wrong syntax, as I was alluding to the other side of the same coin. If I have something thats worth $100 to me, but I can't find a buyer, the more I need cash or goods or whatever I'm trading for, the liklier the item becomes worth less than the $100 I originally valued it to be and I accept less cash on the trade, as cash would be more valuable to me, right then and there. , Or inversely, someone with an abundance of easy cash, might offer more for the item than l had it priced, if there was a competing buyer or it held some pertinent relevance to them, to them, cash would be less valuable. Then there's the guy with a bag of gold but no food or water, how exponentially the gold loses its value to him, the longer without eating he goes until he would trade the whole bag for a glass of water. I might have some terminology mixed up, but hopefully that clarifys where I was trying to go. Certainly wasn't suggesting go out and justify ripping people off by telling oneself since they paid it, it was worth it. But I also wasn't thinking about our basic measurement for creating a standard or at least a starting point for determining value... what worth is one hour of labor...

you are so right about some of these grading companies I submitted a Susan b with a p over s and they said it wasn't there when I showed several people that they were like yeah it's right there are these people scamming us or what what's the deal what's going on with these grading companies are they losing their eyesight or what
@CoinHELPu5 жыл бұрын
Actually there's not a P over S and in order for that to happen a Philadelphia Mint die must be shipped to the San Francisco Mint. Since these dies are heavily documented, then there's a paper trail and then they're carefully ground off under security. So no Susan Anthony P mint die was ever shipped to the S mint. Since that is the case then there was something else wrong with the mint mark.

What grading holder are they in PCGS or NGC?
@richcali215 жыл бұрын
@@CoinHELPu I have always used PCGS because the dealers I work with wont buy NGC unless its keys. I have also always preferred them but the way they grade for both companies has been very up and down for the last few years. I get about 50/50 of what I grade but I am extremely picky and careful to only send the best of my coins and have lots of MS66 coins in slabs that I use to help make sure I am not forgetting just how much luster and such as the luster has always been my downfall. I also have OBW rolls so sometimes there are the tiniest of rub or friction marks that you can hardly see and some times they let them slide and sometimes they do not. It is a real challenge and I think that is why I enjoy it so much.

Now I really like these videos Daniel cause it helps to get a better aspect to grading. I will say though the coin you were showing looks like most the 60s coins an 50s coins. I've looked at em four hours studying them an there all beat up scratched up an yet there all mint state 67. 🤔🤔🤔 Makes ya wonder what's really going on an frustrates people. For instance I just sent I'm a 1965 dime an was graded at AU 58 an I looked at coin facts at some mint state 66 grades an couldn't believe my eyes with as beat up as them dimes looked. So yes grading coins can be a huge frustration if you don't know how to properly grade your coins so nice video an hope to see more of these videos down the road. Thanks have a blessed day.

There must be a designation for toned coins. The values for the rare nicely-toned color coins can sell for more than the finest known pieces in RED. That's why Coin Facts no longer lists values for RB and BN coins. I am a collector of nice color toners and own some of the finest known Lincoln Cent toners. Perhaps this is a topic you may want to cover in a future video.

Daniel, I have 10 coin collections, all mint state coins with few exceptions.One of my sets, is the Lincoln series.All of the key and semi key dates are graded by pcgs.and are xf45 toau58.the rest of the set is in a Dansco, and are all mint state red, no exceptions.There are MO doubt some high grade examples in the coins prior to 34.There may also be some that would recieve a details cleaned designation.Do you recomend that I have the pre 34 coins all graded.Remember I said these are non key or semi key dates, as all of the rarer dates are graded.Thankyou for whatever advice you offer.I am really of 2 minds on this. another penny I like but don't have is a 1955 double die , there are a couple other doubles but they can be expensive. Good show. Do cents out of mint sets usually grade higher for more modern coins ,sometimes I hear of a few that sell for quite a good price but they have to be special ,are any of those worth grading?

Yes, sometimes they can be, but mint sets tend to be mishandled as well. Would be best to buy them still in the shipping box as from the mint.
