Regarding 1:59, the 2025 Royal Mint pure silver poof sovereign coin has the same diameter of 22.05 mm and same weight of 7.99 grams as the 22 karat gold sovereign coin. However, the silver sovereign is 68.4% thicker, because it has a thickness of 2.56 mm compared to the 22 karat gold sovereign which has a thickness of 1.52 mm.

spot on but it still doesn't add up to £79.99 for me?

It's definitely a collectors coin rather than something for stackers & i guess with the lower mintage numbers might make it a little more appealing for them, but i certainly won't be getting one. 😆

I still don't get it! lol

@@nerduk1706 yea nor me, each to their own tho, i'm sure they'll sell a bunch of em too 🤣

I think you need to the separate the idea of proof coins from bullion coins. Bullion coins are for those weight stackers like you and me who maximise the value of the precious metal weight of the coin. Proof coins appeal to collectors of rare, commemorative and limited coins. The same people paying £70 for a salmon 50p will pay £79.99 for a limited first RM release of a silver sovereign. It’s not for me or you, but is for others.

yes everyone is different lol and because of that I'll never get it!

In the end it's a coin and the melt value or money denomination printed on the coin is what will be worth. In a time of crisis, noone will give you the value you paid for that coin! Have a great day!!

The only way that it makes any sense and I don’t know the answer to this is if it has a very, and I mean extremely low mintage. Other than that it defies logic.👊🏻👍🏻

50,000 for the £75 one and 10,000 for the £125 one! so not that low!

I love the idea of a RM silver sovereign... I just do not like the price
@nerduk17063 күн бұрын
yes it's mindblowing to me that people are buying them! but each to their own!

It's a collector's coin, for sure. Not something I'd pickup for stacking.

even as a collector I still don't get it? lol maybe it's just me?

@@nerduk1706 well, when The Silver Great Engravers Coins came out, everyone thought it was well overpriced. now they are selling for over 400-500

Yeah it’s not for me . I try buy best value for money silver will sometimes get bits with a premium if they are particularly nice or interesting but these silver sovs are neither to me lol not for that price anyway 😂

Collectors and stackers are made from different moulds 🥳. A sovereign is a sovereign ( 9.16 gold)😱😱, not silver !!
