Maining Dabi is slowly learning that while your alpha is a great tool to force people to dodge/keep people at a distance, it's really situational and is probably not going to end up being your main source of damage. I usually just get gamma to four and then work on everything else since it's really easy to get hit out of it, certain attacks go straight through it (Ibara), and it's easy to beat out from characters who can get above it (All Might, Bakugo etc.). I have gotten a surprising amount of kills with it though, when people try to run through me to flee one of my teammates.

Ngl alpha is still gonna be main source of damage, only way I possibly could've hit off a 9.8K damage with Dabi on alpha first. Unless you try your hardest to pull a Psyken with 8K damage but that's situational too. Depends on them chasing you. With either beta or gamma first.

As a Dabi main that was my first time seeing the special action get you back up right as you had 3 seconds left usually I do it to buy time for my teammates

Hey stray I just wanted to say that your gameplay with each character in the game has really affected my play style with different characters, hell I even jump+Dash when playing dabi thanks to you which helps a lot in ranked. Keep up the great work my guy I hope ya reach 50K

Omg, Deku players that keep running are maddening. I hate fighting Cementoss. Though accidentally found out Shiggy's special goes through his wall too, I was told it instantly breaks buildings so was just testing it on Cementoss' wall, and it hit Cementoss and downed him too. That was satisfying, because I always struggle against him. I'm gonna have to try this gamma prioritising myself, because I find Dabi quite squishy. I'm always getting pummelled by Momos, Kirishimas, Idas, All Mights, and I can never seem to dodge their attacks at all. It's like there's this area around the graphics that still hits me. I used to Dabi main, but now I don't play him much because I can't figure out how to deal with them.

You can break momos shield with gamma and it’s pretty easy to do just try and keep your distance if she gets too close with her shield and you have no gamma just roll through her and you should be chilling with kirishima… it’s important to know he’s there and coming for you so place your traps while running and keep them between you and kirishima (having a rapid card around buildings so you can get further away is huge) With Iida… I stand infront of my traps and dodge roll his alpha/beta it’s def not in your favor but your team should help you or you should get him low enough to the point where he goes to heal With all might I don’t have any issue? But know you can cancel the tornado with gamma and keep moving (dash jumping and shooting but remember to roll the beta) And I usually get all my skills to level 4 then go alpha -> beta -> gamma and I place traps in the places I’d hate to flanked from and I place them whenever they’re off cooldown

I'm a relatively new player, came to the game just before Endeavor was added, and I've always just maxed the 'projectile' skill first, with the exception of Toga. But you make Gamma Dabi look so fun, so I might as well try it! Great video and have a nice day!

Kirishima , Ten'ya , Momo and Uraraka should be four more exceptions. Maybe Kendō and Aizawa as well.

@@NaeNzuko I haven't played Tenya at all, so I wouldn't know. I don't play enough Kirishims or Momo, but I would say you do have a point. And Aizawa, I've only played him once and I felt like I was just supporting the team with my special action and chasing others. Not to kill them, but to not lose them. I think I had a Bakugo on my team that time, so he was making almost all the damage. Sorry if that sounds lame, I'm still a little new and my aim has never been the greatest. I like to feel like I'm improving, though!

I like the Gamma and it got me nearly to become champion 3 times against an opponent's team. Half the time teammates leave if you dont revive them right away or can't at the time. Then Im the last one standing, its hard to take out a whole team by yourself lol. Even if one opponent is left from it. Using Gamma then traps then Alpha seems best at least I think.

You can honestly go for 4 on gamma and you’ll be fine early game. I usually do this and focus on alpha first.

I really look what the pre-game lobby looks like and go with that. if I happen to see too many super armor rushers or ibaras, yeah I might go with alpha/beta route then. also gamma doesnt seem to flinch them at all if they got GP gauge left.

as a dabi main, i would say alpha first, than gamma second, but this seems pretty good, amazing video btw

Gamma is literally the one I go for first the shield and dmg is literally underrated, it can also deal constant dmg while they’re sitting on the outline

i just found this funny how i found this becuase i just got done playing Ultra Rumble With Dabi and i was doing extremely well until my team left like about 2 times each time they got downed.

I think the max alpha is still better in ranked for a reason . The ranked system atm is trash and privilege perma damaging the whole game and have a lot of ko to grind (I'm talking only about grinding point in ranked) the idea behind 90% of dabi main is just perma spamming everyone on your vision and get a lot of damage and maybe steal some kills while being safe. Maxing and fighting with gamma make you quite vunerable against a lot of character . I'm not saying alpha is straigh better but since a lot of player are playing with random and are not giga good player the max gamma might be very dangerous . So to people who want to try it , try it for fun and do not think this is a magic way to win with dabi like Stray said a lot in his video . Update : I forgot to say playing with gamma make you need to go in the fight and make you vunerable to backstab and dabi have no way to deal with it

Depends on the situation. I feel like they made dabi's alpha easier to dodge, so instead maxing out alpha first i'll level up alpha with one of dabi's other defensive skills as the match goes along. To me alpha isn't so valuable to where you should be dumping all your level ups into it at the start of a match.

I used to do this back before they buffed his alpha because he just couldn't do enough damage to justify building that way.

I think Dabi's quirks should decrease enemy's speed. Such a simple buff that would actually balance him a lot more.

Mained dabi for like a month… I will say I have been appreciating the gamma more but I prefer alpha I get traps lvl 3 to finish kos, max alpha, max gamma, then traps I use to max traps but I do believe the gamma is more important just would have to manage my traps reload time.🤷🏾‍♂️

Dabi's a boss i K.Oed a all might an a lida right befor i went down i layed traps next together than used my gamma and when i went down the traps hit them than i popped his special attack once they got close an K.Oed both of um while i was down. shit felt reall good 😂

Oh you noticed too? I'm probably still gonna be a alpha/beta first guy. But gamma first is decent as well. Psyken started doing this build with Dabi as well. It's good but it ruins the core effic of kiting but lmk what you think on the builds? Personally for me, Alpha first - most optional and reliable but gotta try a bit harder to protect yourself Beta first - sneaky and unpredictable, unreliable but doable Gamma first - hyperdefensive playstyle, can heal with minis and get a finisher off easily without instakills but situational, and unreliable still doable. Seems like the new meta to play Dabi on however. Pop off.
