Why tf do you only have 400 subs? This was hilarious and well edited. I also want to point out that breath of the wild does have an xp system, it’s just not visible. It’s based off of the number of divine beasts you’ve freed and the number of enemy’s you’ve killed. Every so many kills, the next blood moon will respawn certain enemies and turn them one color level up, the same for their weapons (example, Boko weapons go normal, spiked, reinforced and dragonbone) not all enemies colors are changed usally 1 or 2 enemies per camp

I've seen a few people mention this so I went ahead and pinned your comment to make sure people will see it. I found out about the hidden xp system a month or so after uploading and it was a pretty big blunder on my part not putting enough research into the game to figure that out. @@DrowziDrewzi on that note: this post has some interesting info on regen: www.reddit.com/r/Breath_of_the_Wild/comments/6kr7vr/master_mode_regenerating_health_info/ let's say an enemy has 1000 health, you take 500 out; when it starts regenerating it won't go past 800. At that point 800 becomes the new max health so if you damage them again they can only regenerate up to 30% of what was lost, with the max being 800.

But when im out doing an objective, i unironically use the horse autopathing and take in the sights. Im not sprinting everywhere. I talk to all the passerby on the road. I enjoy seeing a pack of enemies along my path only to decide "i dont want to deal with this" and suddenly my horse is moving 100MPH as im shooting bomb arrows just to create some space to gallop by safely. I would actually be excited to see some random thing out of place and be rewarded with a korok seed, or climbing a peak just because its there and i wanted to take in the sights to be rewarded with a random korok seed. I’m greatly enjoying master mode so far minus one or two exceptions. You do need a decent knowledge of the game to make the most of it though and to be able to gain progress much more easily. For example: 1. Know where good weapons respawn each blood moon, mark them, get them. This includes trials of strength. 2. Get Majora’s Mask ASAP, keeps most enemies from immediately aggroing on you. Lets you run around mostly without issue. 3. Get phantom armor for that attack bonus. 4. Stal enemies still die from two bombs, use that, mark the ones with decent weapons on your map, farm each blood moon. Bombs are actually still viable in many situations when used right. 5. Use a quick shot from a bow with a normal arrow to stop/reset the regen timer on enemies. So far I’ve gotten all sheikah towers except one (need fireproof armor), am loaded with weapons, and still only have 3 hearts. It’s definitely doable and I quite like the challenge.
@TheFloodFourm3 жыл бұрын
As someone who quit normal a quarter through because it was too easy I disagree. While I have hit roadblocks due to lack of knowledge every single one of those roadblocks was an invitation to explore either the mechanics or other regions and lead to me gaining the necessary knowledge and having a lot of fun. In my normal mode run I hadn't cooked a single thing past the great plateau because it was confusing and their was no incentive to learn it. MM had me searching for something to increase my damage as soon as I left the plateau which lead me to discovering Lurelin Village, experimenting with mighty bananas, and one of the most satisfying moments ever.
@pcdeltalink0363 жыл бұрын
@@TheFloodFourm Well as I had already done the game on normal difficulty first it wasn't possible to go into this blind. Most of the good/valuable recipes require ingredients that, especially starting out, I either can't afford or cannot get in any decent manner, especially for how often you would want damage buffs in MM. Phantom Armor is free and permanent damage boost though it isn't a lot it's way better than nothing. I won't mince words here. I hate the weapon durability system. Weapon durability is such crap in this game that I avoid combat when possible or unless absolutely needed. Even with damage buffs I feel I would still be losing more/better weapons than I would gain from killing most enemies. All the durability system does is make me farm respawning weapons and look for cheese tactics rather than fighting head on with most enemies. It's not unreasonable to break 2 or even 3 weapons on a decent sized enemy (and I haven't seen or fought gold enemies yet...I don't even want to know how bad they are). So you use up let's say 2 weapons and then food ingredients if using recipe buff and for what gain? 1 weapon that probably wasn't worth what you just spent in resources to get that weapon. Aside from Lynels I have yet to see many targets that are worth the hassle.

I started master mode recently and spend like 5 hours just exploring the great plateau for all its secrets, there's 2 soldier broadswords in the plateau, and excluding the talus and the lynel, you can clear the whole plateau with what you have, that in itself gave me a boost that has helped me out since because I killed enough enemies that better weapons started spawning quicker (i had read online about how you should run away at the start of master mode, but knowing how the leveling system works, I went against it); but yeah the HP spike from black to white is so big that unless you find some later game swords you're not well prepared for them. And the regen kicks in so fast when you use stuff like exploding barrels or dropping rocks and stuff that they make them kind of useless. What I do like about master mode is that I have a reason to create elixirs and change clothes other than temperature.

I think they should have implemented a system, in which you could upgrade your weapon types durability + 1 by using monster parts. Example: all swords can dish out one more extra hit would cost, I don’t know maybe a goblin horn or something. For the swords to reach 2 extra hits, double that number again. And so forth and so forth. And that for each weapon type. Would have been worth it then to at least fight monsters..

I never realized the enemies regenerate their health. Do they do this in normal mode too, and it's just more pronounced in master mode, or is it unique to master mode? Also, yeah, the beginning of MM is a pain in the dick. Not only to a ton of enemies one hit you, but like you said, the weapobs are so incredibly weak(particularly on the plateau), it takes like 3 weapons to kill a single bokoblin. I also totally agree about getting better at fighting(especially dodging/parrying), and having to be stealthy and creative. And those fucking mini guardians in the shrines in the beginning are practically impossible to kill, especially when theres more than one, and they just one shot you. I noticed the same thing about engaging enemies feeling pointless, especially enemy camps, as they probably have weapons you don't want, and the treasure chests generally have shitty items in them. At it feels like the only reason to engage with enemies/camps is for the monster parts/items you get from them so that you have something to sell for rupees, or for upgrading clothing/ armor at fairies.
@DrowziDrewzi2 жыл бұрын
the enemies only regenerate in master mode (luckily). @tyenevins62083 жыл бұрын
The regeneration can be annoying but it just means you have to learn how to deal high dps in a short amount of time. Which.. at the beginning the game is really freaking hard.
@Random1567 Жыл бұрын
@@tyenevins6208 you can use the same strats but just add in an arrow shot, wear attack buff armor or eat atk buff food, freeze then burn (deals extra damage), use sneak strikes (maybe wait for night so they can sleep and do this easier). Plus enemies do scale and get stronger over your play through which means they get better weapons over time too, so the weapons tend to pay for themselves if you do everything right. Really, I’m just scared of the master trials in master mode but gonna try that soon too lol It’s a hardcore mode and for some may be frustrating but takes an ultimate understanding of the game to fully appreciate I think

To me, master mode is unplayable just because you lose more weapons than you gain in almost any fight. Where's the fun in running past most enemies?
@Insert_Name_Here908 Жыл бұрын
Stop trying to brute force your way through enemies. Try using your environment to your advantage. Maybe do a stealth attack if you can.

As someone who never played the regular botw and started directly with master mode, i went through that realization of "why would i waste time fighting this fodder and lose 3 weapons for a shtty club" and at some point, i dont really know when, but the answer came to me. "Because i fking hate these guys." It got to the point where i didnt care about losing a great firesword to kill a squad of Lizalfos, because i can just go find the enemies that have one and take it back. I have so much rupees i dont mind blowing 20 bomb arrows on some moblins. I use my best weapons because i can just get them again, in a worst case scenario id just have to wait for a bloodmoon since i mark literally everything on my map and the hero's path is an ABSOLUTE godsend for retracing steps. Yeah, i know the trade off isnt worth it in a material sense, but im past that material phase. Gear fear is absolutely a real thing, where you dont want to lose your cool new weapon, so you just never use it. If you conquer that feeling, it opens up a WHOLE new game for you.

3 things to change about master mode - add more enemy and weapon variety - make standard enemies (bokos, moblins, and lizals) have slower or negligable regen - reap greater rewards from enemy encounters

when I first beat this game back in the day, I took all the time in the world to find shrines enhance equipment and stuff, I enjoyed the fight against ganon, but it felt very easy, link is too powerful after a 100 hours of gameplay. And when I finished the game I thought, it's open world, you can go directly to ganon if you wanted to, is it possible to beat it? Woke up next morning and started the game again, took the armour and earrings to look cool and went straight for ganon. Now getting through the castle to the top, beating ganon and all its faces with 3 hearts was FUN as fuck, challenging but not impossible and it roled played like Link did remember Zelda is trapped in the castle haha. That's a master mode for free.
@DrowziDrewzi4 жыл бұрын
Going straight to ganon does seem like the ultimate challenge since you wouldnt have pages of food to bring you back to full health. Thats kinda my biggest problem with botw honestly, if you just farm food its the same as having hundreds of hearts to spare. I think if there was some kind of way to limit how much health you can get back during a fight they would be much more challenging
@FeelMetalMan4 жыл бұрын
@@DrowziDrewzi that's true for many games, and in this one specially true. getting full life back +13 extra hearts for knowing what to cook seems excesive

I think the unwritten rule for master mode as ive done it before is get 13 heart containers get the master sword, upgrade it via trials to 60 power and seriously the game becomes a breeze after

Master mode is so annoying at the beginning but later on when you can defeat golden lynels with ease, you begin to feel like a boss 😎

I just went straight to Ganon without freeing the Divine Beasts in Master Mode and after getting a fully upgraded Barbarian Set. It took me a second attempt to win. It was the one thing I hadn't experienced. I also did it in Normal Mode beforehand with fully upgraded Knight Armor instead. I'm definitely never doing it again. The only challenge left for me is the Master Mode Trial of the Sword.

If there’s one thing I can give Master Mode credit for, it’s much easier to get rich. Because of all the Silver- and gold-tier enemies, you’ll be racking up a lot of gems. Find a pack of five or six Silver Bokoblins, that’s a small fortune right there.

14:28 this bit is all wrong, there is a hidden level mechanic that levels up your world and the monsters that appear and weapons you can collect all get stronger as you gain the hidden XP, look it up, it's a thing.
@JugularJohn2 жыл бұрын
The enemies get stronger and the weapons. But not link himself. Therefor I don’t think it really counts as a level up system.

Why so few views? This video is excellent in balancing content, editing and comedy!!! Can it be true that so many gamers just not up to the challenge of BOTW Master Mode??? They’re greatly missing out by A) not playing Master Mode and B) not letting the YT algorithm propose them this gem of video production.

Now try the Trial of the Sword. Finding out you can cheese the two Room 10 Silver Lizalfos was the greatest thing ever. That said it's complete bullshit that must've never been playtested because it is so comically imbalanced. The Champions' Ballad is better, but its final boss is everything horrible about Lizalfos on Master Mode, but worse. It's like fighting 8 Yiga at once. And they have all 3 elemental arrows.

I somehow managed to beat trial of the sword and DUDE THAT ROOM YOU'RE TALKING ABOUT IS SUCH BS LIKE SERIOUSLY. I havent even touched champions ballad though, I guess Ill have to check that out too... wish me luck

@@DrowziDrewzi The 1HA was more of a handicap in Normal Mode, but it's a godsend in Master Mode. 1 shotting a Gold class enemy is such a boon. The Great Plateau Lynel didn't know what hit it.

13:53 have any elemental type weapon. Hit it once then switch to another weapon amd wail on it. Rinse and repeat. When it does its final charge shot get your strongest heavy weapon, charge swing and pray.

BOTW is definitely made more for exploring than combat, so I'd say normal mode is a good call. Also completing trial of the sword on Master Mode is a nightmare
