I remember teaching myself contrary. For the left hand, I had to go low-to-high first - to ascertain which finger I'd use for the L.H. high-to-low movement.

Same! 😆 It took me a while to get used to the contrary motion pattern in the left hand!

@pianowithemma there's two contrary I struggle on. C# Major and its relative Bflat Minor. Some say contrary is easier than similar motion. I so beg to differ!

Thanks. I wish I had seen your video 4 months ago. Even though I'm a "veteran" beginner piano player, I'm always looking for new tips. You're correct about starting them right away. And I appreciated your tip to play all 12 keys in contrary motion. It really helps finger coordination. I think I'm doing well on 9 or 10 scales, and just have to make the finger motion automatic to really get the down south scales.
