Shiyu Defense is likely gonna revolve around the newest banners and their respective elements. I doubt it's a coincidence that most stages are weak to ice or ether or in many cases both with Ellen and Zhu Yuan being new. It's an incentive to push people into spending.

As the person above mentioned, whatever the element of the current limited character is will most likely be the weakness of most enemies in Shiyu as an incentive to get people to pull (for example most enemies will probably be weak to physical when Jane releases) so don't worry too much about that and pull for who you like or need.

Well... It's not just about shiyu defense, but most ethereals are just weak to ether damage as if it's their natural weakness. Like how the 2 weekly bosses ethereals are weak to ice (to please ellen pullers) and ether (at that time zhuyuan wasn't up yet at day 1 so it's hard to tell of it's intended for her). Also for the fact that there's no other ether character besides Nicole at launch so if there's ether weak enemies and you don't have zhuyuan you're kinda f*cked. Plus since zhuyuan is in 1.0, I doubt they're going to release another ether dps in near future.

@@LevtoChannel That is true, but I don't really count weekly bosses (sorry if this sounds arrogant) because they are so easy, regardless of the element considering my solider 11 or piper team can kill em in under a minute and a half. Where with Shiyu you actually might be feel forced to pull someone (never feel forced) to clear the content, So I agree with your point that they made it so the enemies are weak to the current limited character's element but I really don't think you need to pull a whole character for something as easy as notorious hunt. (TLDR pull who you like don't make these gachas control you)
