yes! I felt I needed more to get a better grip on the Agon world!

I totally agree about the lack of backstory and explanation about the punishment, but it was a thrilling read! I enjoyed it! Really great review that hits everything you might want to know about the book :-)

Yay thank you! Yes, it was certainly thrilling and an enjoyable read :) I think it'll be a popular one as more folks read it!

Excellent review! You were so thorough on each strength and weakness in this book. While choosing a familiar setting such as NYC is much easier than creating a whole new fantasy world, it sounds like the author could have done much more to bring readers into the experience. So strange how negative emotions are not counted as emotions. I don't understand that either. I really enjoyed hearing your thoughts!

Thank you! :D Yes, I felt like there was so much more backstory we didn't get to see that would've woven a much better story!

I've been struggling to pick up Lore after reading the prologue even though the premise sounded right up my street! When I saw you had a review I knew I had to watch it to see your thoughts - sounds like some interesting points so hopefully I finish the book soon

When you finish it let me know! It was certainly fast paced and sucked me in, but def some cons there too

LOVE greek mythology! The last YA inspired by greek mythology I read was lifestyles of gods and monsters. That one let me down but I'm eager to try this one out!
@KistiReads3 жыл бұрын
I haven't read that one! Lore is def a fun read just with a few caveats like I mentioned. If you read it, I'm excited to hear what you think!

I just got this in my OwlCrate Box and I am kind of excited to read it. It sounds good but I am a bit skeptical since I like more worldbuilding and backstory.
@KistiReads3 жыл бұрын
ooooh I had a feeling that's what would be in the Owlcrate this month! So yes, if you enjoy more worldbuilding and backstory this is lacking in the big picture sense - but you do get a good backstory for the main character, Lore and a bit for Castor too.

I felt it lacked in descriptions. Maybe I'm just picky. But I give it a 4 in total.

Agreed - I think she relied a lot on us knowing the city etc which I didn't enjoy!
