What's the difference between an LMG or an SMG with a 4,000 round drum mag?

well in milsim games only lmg's can use full auto. Also your only allowed to carry so many mags so you wouldnt even be able to use an smg with a drum mag.

Don't know for sure but SMGs are only allowed midcaps at most "milsims" and I think SMGs are limited to 1j in order to be FA. LMGs can use drums and are 1.65-1.7j. I use an HPA. LMG from time to time at my local field that uses a "milsim rule set" when it comes to the guns and their configuration. The LMG is almost over powered in many situations
