This year, I’ve skied Valle Nevado and La Parva multiple days (20+) from top to bottom, and having a season pass for both is pure magic. The combined skiable areas make a skiing dream in Chile come true like never before. This season has been incredible, and I highly recommend getting a season pass for next year. Valle Nevado is even planning on buying El Colorado, which would take the experience to another level!

I'm totally on the same page about skiing the combined resorts. I did two days this August skiing all three the same day and like you say, it was a different level. Will post a video about it in a few months!

That's awesome! I also got the Valle Nevado season pass this year, and being able to access La Parva with it is such a game-changer. The two resorts together are just unbeatable next year’s going to be amazing!

Much better value staying at El Colorado also has a lot more terrain to offer than first appears. I am here now and ski access to the other two resorts from El Colorado is easy. You can also stay true ski in ski out for $100 a night american (studio with kitchen and multiple beds) at El Colorado. La Parva is also just a 3 min drive from El Colorado.

The biggest real difference is that there are 4 chairlifts serving different terrain. which you will actually ski, in La Parva, and 2, at best, in Valle Nevado (assuming all are running in both). Also, the main bowl of Valle Nevado (Andes Express) is high and has a south east orientation, making it the best bowl and fastest lift in the 3 Valleys.

Hi, even though El Colorado has fewer advanced ski/board slopes, the ones it does have are better than those at La Parva or Valle Nevado.
@SkiBoyNY.3 ай бұрын
I totally agree. The advanced slopes at El Colorado that border Valle Nevado are my favorites among all three resorts.

Hello I am from chile (Santiago) and I love to ski in valle nevando, la parva and el colorado. And I wanted to know witch do you like more valle nevado or la parva. Also I love your videos. Keep it up.
@SkiBoyNY.11 ай бұрын
Thanks so much! I love both. It's tough for me to choose a favorite because I only had 2 days at La Parva and there were during a snow storm, so it was hard to get a true feel for La Parva because the visibility was poor. I did not fully explore some terrain because it was difficult to see where I was going. So for now, I would say Valle Nevado, but I need some more time at La Parva!

Thank you for this video. Considering heading down🇨🇱 in Aug 2024 for 4 days of skiing. From NY/NJ area and usually ski Belleayre in NY. Senior intermediate. Not monster like you. Would you agree Colorado, La Parva and Farellones with Valle Nevado sprinkled in one of the 4 days. Regarding cash - any use for it or is everything Apple Pay etc? Appreciate your advice. Enjoy your videos - style, information, insights, delivery. Well done👍 Oh P/s....airlines and my ski bag. Thinking Avianca out of JFK down to Santiago. Are ski bags considered luggage if they are giving me 2 checked bags? Thank you
@SkiBoyNY.7 ай бұрын
Thanks so much! Really appreciate it. Absolutely, if you ski Belleayre, La Parva and Valle Nevado will be similar in terms of steepness of terrain. Belleayre may actually have more moguls since the Chilean resorts are above the tree line. I haven't skied El Colorado yet, but I hear it's generally more beginner in nature than the others, so there will be no surprises there. I had no problems with credit cards anywhere. As far as ski bags, I'd check the airline website to confirm, but generally, my experience has been that South American airlines will treat a ski bag as a regular checked bag as long as it's within the total inch-wide measurements for checked bag. Just like in the U.S. and Europe. So far, this is looking like a great South American winter, with many resorts opening early, so you may have picked one of the best years to go. Let's hope the snow keeps coming!

@skiboyNY Did you bring your own food up with you to the resort? Is there an easy way to have single accomodation between the two resorts? Am looking at spending 4 -5 days here in early september and wanted to hit vLle nevado for 2-3 days, la parva for a day and el colorado, wanted to know how to get between the resorts if i take the shuttle bus up from santiago.
@SkiBoyNY.11 ай бұрын
Yes, I bought food in Santiago and brought it up because the markets at Valle Nevado and La Parva don't have much and are expensive. If the snow conditions are ideal, you can ski or board between all three resorts. So you could stay at one resort the whole time and still visit all of the others. But they don't sell a common pass. So if you're staying at one resort, when you connect to the other, you'll have to go immediately to a lift ticket office to buy a pass. La Parva seems only to have ticket offices at the main base despite what the trail map says, at least when I was there during August. The other ticket offices were closed. If you take a shuttle bus from Santiago, you should be able to find one that takes you to whichever resort you want to visit.

Hi. I’m from Chile. Valle Nevado and la Parva were acquired by the same owner (Colorado is on track to join them as well) so you shouldn’t need to change acommodation, just change from Valle Nevado to La Parva skiing whenever you want. It is quite simple to go skiing into Colorado from any of the other 2 as well so you can easily ski the 3 of them any given day. You should consider bringing all you need from Santiago but there are some shops up in the mountains in case you missed something, althought they are more expensive and limited

Did you go alone? I'm debating whether to go by myself or not.
@SkiBoyNY.6 ай бұрын
Yes, on this trip, I went alone. I met others there who did the same thing. If you stay in one of the hotels, it may be much easier to meet others. It obviously helps to speak Spanish, but I don't and was still able to manage Santiago, Valle Nevado and La Parva well. The only language struggle I had was in La Parva.

Where do you have your cam connected to when your skiing to give you that angle?
@SkiBoyNY.7 ай бұрын
I use a 360 camera attached to an invisible selfie stick that I then attach to my helmet. Typically on the back or side of the helmet. It makes it a bit difficult to ski, but it can give you some pretty good shots. I explain it a bit here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/nJm4ao1voc2th9U

Hello im going to spend 7 days skiing in Valle nevado, im wondering can I rent ski equipment for 7 days straight, and keep it in my apartment to avoid the rental lines
@SkiBoyNY. Жыл бұрын
I didn't rent skis there, but they do have rentals at the resort, so you should be able to rent for 7 days straight. My rental apartment building had a ski locker at the entrance, so I stored my skis there overnight. There's a good chance your apartment building will have something similar. Let's hope they keep getting snow!

Yes, definitely ideal to have multiple people to bring the cost down. Unfortunately, if you don't have that, the cheaper options tend not to have WIFI and aren't as nice. That's a great deal that you got! You can get so much more time in for the same spend!

@@SkiBoyNY. Yeah for sure. And you did get the ski in an out experience. So that's nice. I just figured I would make more than just a ski trip out of it. And use my Ikon days as I please. Just go up 7 times in the 2 weeks I'm there. I'm sure it will be way more of a hassle but oh well. Still have time to chill and hang in Santiago and some other areas.

Qué tiene que ver mostrar la belleza de los centros de esquí con el tema de los DDHH??? NADA, ese tema divide a los chilenos
@SkiBoyNY. Жыл бұрын

Doesn't matter what the paper said about terrain. El Colorado offers way better terrain for advanced skiers than La Parva and Valle Nevado. Best area in terms of terrain and snow bay far of the three areas is what you can see of El Colorado from Valle Nevado, Cono Este and Valle Olímpico of El Colorado is the envy of the other two ski areas, specially in a powder day. I worked as ski instructor 7 years in El Colorado and 7 years in Valle Nevado and have been skiing the three areas since I was a kid. If I have to chose to ski one of the three just for my own enjoyment, I will choose El Colorado with no any doubt. Now if I going to ski in Chile and have limited time, I will skip the three areas around Santiago and for no much travel time go straight to Portillo, where the real expert terrain is an where the world class skiers choose to go. I little about my background. I'm a ski instructor in Beaver Creek , Colorado for the last 26 years and have been skiing plenty in most of the most demanding ski areas in the west.
