In addition to stacking gold and silver I buy foreign currencies because I'm not exactly good with my money so when I go broke I need money to pay for taxi cabs sometimes. But also and at the same time I have these currencies because at some point I plan on spending them in those respected places like Canada and Europe. I won't just stop with buying Euros and Canadian dollars I plan to also pick up bills from all the nations that I wish to travel to in the world on a bucket list. Guatemala quetzal Peruvian sol the Argentinian peso and Lebanon pound. I realize that it's really questionable to pick up something as weak as the Argentinian peso in Lebanese pound but the truth is there is a bottom to all markets. So in addition to picking some unstable or weaker currencies like the Iraqi dinar which may be getting stronger every day I also like to pick currencies that are stronger than the American dollar like the Swiss franc and the British pound. One last thing to put in your wallet that will keep you a little more secure on your path in life is to take a 3x6 baggie and put a couple or a few checks from your checkbook inside it and put that right next to your bills in case for some chance that fraud department puts a lock on your card or the ATM doesn't have money for whatever reason you can post date whatever it is you're buying with a check.

The second hand generic rounds, although nothing actually wrong with them, look like "gas station" silver (for lack of a better term). Both tubes are an eye sore so I keep them separate from the rest of my stack and I've been wondering what to do with them... This is a 1 oz bar. Granted its value is about $80 in the collector market, but its cool to see a spread in price. Just tonight I seen a 1 oz Art bar go for $87.75 - I bought this same bar 4 days ago for $54. Even thought I started out Constitutional silver and still like it. Dave Ramsey wouuld approve of stacking enough cash for an emergency fund. I think he defines an emergency as surprise car trouble, or anything that would require a credit card. I have tried stacking cash in the past. For me cash is too liquid. I ALWAYS end up spending it. I’ve never been able to hold more that a few hundred before “having” to spend it. That’s a higher reason I love buying metals. I can see how much I have because it’s not just a number in a bank. And it’s 1 more step to spend it. What have been doing is coin roll hunting and filling coin folders. Every pay check I’ll take out what I was planning to spend on silver and gold and coin roll hunt that amount. It’ll take me the weekend, but I’ll typically set aside $10-20 each time. And I’ll spend the reason on metals. Now I have a few hundred in coins On top of what is now about a month and a half in expenses in silver, gold and platinum saved up. It is still possible to spend the coins, but it’s a bit harder to go to the gas station with $20 in nickels. Especially if they are ones I set aside because they are old or particularly shinny.

I think Dollar Cost Average on a schedule is good advice for people new to stacking or not confortable with there PM holdings. Holding some Cash back for deals, big pullbacks, estate sales etc. It also protects you from Bank runs, EMPs (Solar flairs), Bank Closings/hacked etc. My new car dealer had to service my new car on paper because the program that 70% of car dealers use nationwide was hacked...Hmmm Me personally I buy Silver/Gold when it dips below a 6 month low (That number is always updating) kitco 6 month charts. If you buy at that level you will never overpay regardless if its $22 or $35 a ounce. Currently I got tired of waiting on Gold to hit my level so I switched to graded Saint Gaudens because premiums are nothing and if gold dips those premiums will shoot up. When PMs dip quickly you need to switch to stuff that is cheap (bars, impared secondary ect) Because premium stuff (Libertads, ASEs etc) will just raise the premiums keeping price the same. Hi :)

I think you should always keep some liquid cash on hand. If some minor emergency happens it keeps you from having to sell some of your stack to take care of it. Something is always going to happen. Once in a while you get extra cash you did not plan on. I take that extra cash and put half in savings and half in metals. I do not care what the spot price is. I have some blow money in my budget I regard as extra cash. I do the same thing with that blow money. When my savings gets to a certain point then I put the excess into metals regardless of the spot price. I know in the short term this may be a bad deal. In the long run its worked out pretty good for me. I remember buying an ounce of gold for $800.00 which was a bad deal a long time ago in the short run. Now it looks like a genius move lol.

As long as they maintain the same amount of inventory as when they opened they make money off of spreads not spot . Charging a little more than their wholesale prices & paying a little less than what they can sell back to wholesaler for. So even if they take a loss on some oz' s they also replace them cheaper
