Bigger bikes are heavier, have more sensitive throttles, more sensitive brakes etc. It isnt that they are difficult to control, its just that your errors are magnified. Its not simply a matter of discipline. For a new rider they havent encountered all of the little ways the street will fuck with them, and encountering those things on a very powerful and sensitive motorcycle could potentially be disasterous. I wish you luck. I ride a liter bike now so I am familiar with operating a very powerful bike. I am thankful I worked my way up as at this point I am very relaxed and pretty much never scare myself. I hope nobody thinks I am being judgmental its just that there is so much to learn and the consequences for failure can be extreme. Most people could ride a 300 for years and never be able to outride the machine. You are lucky that youve merely scared yourself, which is a clear indicator you are in over your head but you are rationalizing it to yourself. Seek training. There's a lot of dead guys that were totally fine and in control and had respect for their machine right up to the point where they realized they were fooling themselves. Ok, maybe I am a little judgemental, but it's coming from the position of wanting to preserve life.

I like your take on this, I am on my first bike; a ninja 400, and completely agree with you. I've done so stupid things while riding and undoubtedly would wrecked a bigger bike because my mistakes would have been larger. I already found the consequences of adding throttle and lean angle at the same time. I got lucky, and the bike wasn't gurt badly. The worst was a bent rear brake, which is still 100% functional 4.5k miles later.

@@wickedtomahawk9091 glad that you are learning and uninjured. Keep learning as much as you can, advanced training classes made a big difference for me. Unfortunately I do not anticipate many people will be eager to agree with me.

I still have a lot of time before I get a bike. I’ve been thinking whether I’d want a 750 or 600. I believe that I’d be able to start on a 750, but when you said “the higher the power, the less margin for error” that kinda put into perspective 😂 thinking now that I’d rather start on a 600 and then have that happiness when I upgrade later. Loved the video man!

Remember there are still ride modes you can run the 750 in C which is gonna be the lease amount of power. I'll prolly make a video for you showing the difference in power on in those modes.

Even a 600 is mind-blowing amounts of performance for someone that hasn't rode before. Proceed with caution.

@@SushiArmageddon yeah makes sense. I rode a dirt bike maybe once like 11 years ago so I’d call myself experienced 😎. Legit, it scares me either way

@@shrimpyjoe3498ive had friends die, these things are very dangerous but very fun. Look at who you are taking advice from by watching this video. He talks about respect and restraint and then blasts off down the freeway at incarcerating speeds. This guy can't even take his own advice, he will be lucky to survive.

@SushiArmageddon LIKE I said before people just need to ride their own ride. I'll ride within my comfort if it's blasting down the highway as fast as I want thats on me I'm comfortable with that XD

im starting on a 750 soon taking riding course and just practicing on my own time you just have to respect the machine. Its not the gun that kills people its the operator of it. Ride safe

Pretty much control the machine don't let it control you.
@SushiArmageddon

If you respected the machine you would work your way up. The act of starting on something like a 750 is disrespectful to the machine. Maybe you can get away with it but no it's not a good idea despite how you may rationalize it.

I mean most 1st time crashes/accidents are low speed collision or drops. The size of the engine doesn't matter in terms of safety, it only matters on how much insurance your going to pay. The bigger cc bikes usually provide more tech to make it more rider friendly. I honestly don't understand why suzuki makes a 600 & 750 for the american market, the jump in power and the price difference don't make much sense to upgrade from the 600 to 750.
@KlydesdaleGG
@KlydesdaleGG 3 ай бұрын
Still the more power the less room you have for error it's much easier to learn on a smaller CC bike. People who start on bigger bikes usually become straight line warriors "IMO" and when it comes to cornering learning all of that on a big ol 1k is gonna be way harder than learning on a 300. This is all IMO of course
@SushiArmageddon
@SushiArmageddon 3 ай бұрын
@@KlydesdaleGG its not just your opinion it is factual. Everything on a big bike is more sensitive. To corner successfully you need to be able to manage these controls without upsetting your suspension. That is a lot more difficult on a big bike. Not a great way to learn, most people that start on big bikes never are able to push their skills because simply being on the machine is outside of their comfort level much less cornering properly.

You learn by making mistakes. Mistakes on a 500 scare you. Mistakes on a 750 Gixxer scare you, but if you have thousands of miles and years of experience you have the right reactions to keep on learning and maybe not crash. Mistakes on a 750 if you don't have experience let you know you've made a mistake when it's too late to do anything about it (except ask God for help).

I agree with you. I don't have alot of miles myself taken my msf course and been looking into getting into the next course and hoping to get sometime on the track this season..but for now I just record every ride and rewatch my rides to pick up on mistakes I made and bad habits. Some habits are hard to break but it takes time.

I started on a gixxer 600 In my 20s I’m 52 now and still drive a 600 the six hundred is just perfect for the street But if you want to start on a 750 or 1000 then go for it it’s all about you and how much control and discipline you have .. I’ve driving other motorcycles and 750 and 1000 But for me 600 if where I’m more comfortable .. gixxer 600 till I give it up I’m actually planning on buying the 8R for my other bike .. 600 n 8R on my garage why not The 8R is the sv650 on steroids .. 😮
