What do you do with 16+ gauge stranded wire, such as lamp wire and electronics wire. Do you sell it as #2 insulated or strip it somehow? Its too thin to burn, it melts

I have been selling it as #2 insulated wire. However, I’m working on using two paper shredders to granulate the copper. I actually have a video where I use one paper shredder and it does work, but it needs a few improvements. Thank you for your comment and watching a couple of my videos.

I found your channel, and my joy for scrapping from volunteering at habitat for humanity. If you have the time, see if you can take your talents down to your local habitat center. They get a lot of metal good that they can’t really sell that they end up scrapping. I spent my first month taking apart light fixtures and ceiling fans for brass, copper, steel, and zinc. Now I’m taking apart door knobs for brass, which is where I discovered your channel. I’m also stripping giant lengths of wires for them so that little trick you showed is going to come in handy. Keep up the good work!

@@scrapitall200 when I throw braided into my stripper and try to turn it in, the pay for it, for some reason, isn’t considered copper number 1 it’s 2, which is usually half the price of 1 and only 20 cents a pound more than non stripped braided wire. Maybe my scrap yard is just junk like that. Also, melted down copper pipe is copper 1 which is the highest pay out for copper meanwhile copper piping is considered blow by copper and is only 1/4 of copper one, so I melt copper pipes now too.
