All good info, Niki at R-Tech was able to squeeze 390BHP and 423lbft out of my S3 8P. Its safe to say I was happy as Larry🤣. So yes these cars have so much potential

Picking a good tuner defo important. Travelled a little to get mine tune my AMD Tuning, picked them because approachable and they actually race an Audi S3 8V so know the platform well.
@CarsWithSmithy3 жыл бұрын
Always worth making a long trip for the right tuner I agree
@armaankhan87533 жыл бұрын
AMD are literally putting a flash map on your car that anyone can do lol, oh and their dyno figures are a load of BS🤣 Should’ve gone to MRC for the 8V platform.

Very good information, chilled out video. Agree decent brand tyres are a must. Spending thousands on tuning and putting cheap tyres. Your only point of contact between the car and the road.. pointless
@JonathanBrown-e6r10 ай бұрын
I like the 8p, but you might aswell save a bit more and buy an 8v or golf r, which are faster anyway and responds better to tuning..

Very informative mate thank you, I will be going stage 2+ on my manual, but the car stock is fast Enough for me personally, but there has been a few occasions where I just wanted that extra power. But I’ll see how stage 1 feels first👍

Stage 1 is a great step up from stock to be fair mate, you’ll be surprised how much quicker it is

In the UK and EU you guys make more power in general because if your temperatures. In South Africa if we want to make the same power we have to run meth for cooling not fueling to be able to run our cars like you do

Stage 2+ with dsg here and love it, bought the car already tuned, apparently it has different injectors in it? Is that common? And all the other normal mods, exhaust, intake fuel pump etc

Would you recommend tuning a daily car? I don’t really need a track car results but slightly improved performance would be nice. Does the economy improve as well with the tune as well and how does it translate to reliability? Thanks
@CarsWithSmithy3 жыл бұрын
100%! I use mine daily, and have done since I first got it remapped about 3/4 years ago. Mine has never skipped a beat since it’s been remapped, just stay on top of maintenance

@@CarsWithSmithy appreciate it mate. Just bought one with 64k miles. It’s my first performance car and an investment thus me asking you as you’re more experienced. With the service how do your intervals look like? Oil every 6 to 8k, spark plugs every 15 to 20k and Haldex every 30k? Is there anything else I should look out for? Thanks

Does car give a fault code and a fault light if the charger is broken? i just did brisk accelerations so there was no sound from the turbo when you loose the throttle. It has been heard before .. S3 8p APR stage 2+, no fault codes and lights.. I dont know whats happening. :(
@rays732 жыл бұрын
If it's a daily driver as you put it and not taking it on the race track, why remap it in the first place? These cars are already quicker than most other hatchbacks on the road ?? 🤔

Because it’s fun! Plenty of roads to enjoy upgraded performance on well within the law

I just bought a audi A3 Sportback 2.0 tfsi 147kw dsg. Just changed all filters and oil. The car i fast but id like a little bit faster! Should you recommend me to go to stage 1? And do i need to do the dsg tune also? and do you think the dsg is powerfull and Reliable enough ? Thanks!
@CarsWithSmithy3 жыл бұрын
Yeah you could easily go for a stage 1 remap on that. DSG doesn’t need a tune but the tuner can advise you on that
