Luanda looks like a cool experience. The people are friendly. The beaches are nice. The women are amiable and gorgeous. Will pay a visit and check it out. Thanks for the trip!

Great analysis, Angola is a great country but If you know someone who is an extrovert and can show you the nightlife and wildlife, even better, you’d end up buying a house here.

I'm one of those Angolans who actually thinks that showing the country's poverty may be a wakeup call for this government realize how far they are from fulfilling people's dreams of living with some dignity! And don't forget that this country is one of the most corrupt countries in the world and that is despite being a major player in the oil export trade so, it is not for lack of resources that the majority of the population is extremely poor! Looking the other way is definitely not the answer! A Brazilian tourist vlogger a few months ago reported her driver being harassed by police for petty cash during her road trip from Malanje to Luanda. The video went viral and a couple of days later, the government issued an order that all those checkpoints along the interprovincial roads be removed. Do you see my point?

@@valmir144 There's a balance to it. Yes, Angola has its problems but it's not all bad. And people also tend to think of Luanda as the sole representative of Angola. Also, people tend to mix their political grievances with the present government and give a bad image of the country forgetting that tourism can be a very important sector in a country.
@valmir1442 ай бұрын
@@guleiro "their political grievances"? what the hell are you talking about? I'm not a politician and have no political ambitions whatsoever. I'm just a concerned citizen. It hurts me to see hundreds of kids aged 8-12 with no hope in view polishing shoes all day long in downtown Luanda. I'm guessing this is something that doesn't bother you at all, right? There is no tourism in a police state. Forget it! I'm pretty sure Jay didn't feel comfortable filming on the street as he would in any tourist-friendly country, including many African countries!
@guleiro2 ай бұрын
@@valmir144 Call it what you want. We have our problems like every country but those problems have proper times and places to be addressed. Portugal has a strong tourist industry but you don't see people talking about how expensive and difficult life is for the average citizen on tourist forums isn't?... Why? Because tourism and politics don't mix. Our country has pluses and minuses . The tourists want to enjoy the pluses. The minuses are to be resolved by us and among us.

What’s the educational opportunities like there? What are human rights like there? Is there homophobia? Is there stratification? If so, how hard is it to start a business, especially if you are an African-American or other foreigner? What is access to Healthcare like. What are basic food prices (for someone who only prepares food at home, and does NOT go to restaurants) what are the markets like. How much is 1 bag of rice? What about haircare products? Do they have familiar or compete le items for men and women, what are the crime statistics like?
