Yea, eso and family has made me a casual player now and it’s the perfect game for me. I just wish we could get a class change feature and subclasses that would let us specialize in a class skill line, extending the line to a full class kit but locking the other 2 out.

I started ESO about 3 weeks ago. For me eso is perfect. I work alot and if I don’t get to play alot I don’t feel super behind like other games. Everything is super user friendly. Quests and cities and everything seems relatively to very well done. So anyone that hasn’t tried eso. Give it a shot it’s alot of fun

There is always a disconnect between casual and endgame. In fairness to the endgamers they have dealt with some stuff in ESO which I came to understand as I somehow became an endgame player myself. But with me I never lost sight of the bigger picture and I find the game overall fantastic, they haven't even done any balance changes in U36, so nothing to complain about this month :)

Sorry but a 20% plus nerf is never a good thing and did not accomplish any of what they said they wanted too. Maybe you like hitting like a wet noodle but not everyone does.

Don't be jealous of people who enjoy this game. People who enjoy ESO have something wrong with their brain. The reason you can't enjoy it is because it's not fun. Like pretty much every other MMORPG ever to exist, it's chock full of tedium and pretty much nothing else. If you want to play Elder Scrolls, you're better off just replaying one of the mainline titles.

As a casual gamer My solo experience after playing over 1000 hours - There is no challenge in Overland content so it's boring once u reach cp 160 , look at elden ring. How did they get the success ? There are challenges and there are ways to overcome them. But in eso you can't Even finish some vet dungeons without 4 players. Those are mind bogglingly difficult to finish in Solo. Look I also love ESO but the things they did this year with okensoul ,update 35 and jabs animation. It's just bad and disrespectful. I don't see any reason for a new player to start playing Eso by investing their precious time and money and quit after 3 or 6 months just because of poor dev decisions.

I just started the game last week. I am loving it. Mainly because it is such an easy game to get progress and upgrading your character is easy and straight forward. I think it will take me a few years to get to the issues you are talking about.

It's about the same difficulty as Skyrim imo so I just roll play that my character is a huge badass and enjoy the power trip. And tough-talk all my enemies extremely distespectfully and rudely as I wipe them out. It's great fun so far (1 week for me now)

As someone who dropped in a month and a half ago on Xbox I’m in love. I bought the collectors edition before it launched and was disappointed. Now it’s truly something else. Ya play it like a single player Elder Scrolls game. It’s amazing.

Yeah its much better now than it was on release. The intro part is much better, the game is alot smoother. I was obsessed with ff14 when this came out and the day I had with maintenance on ff wasn't enough for me to get into the game, was too slow and boring compared to ff14. Now its definitely improved, not up to ff14 levels yet. But get rid of the old systems and it could be close

This man said esos server issues are related to last gen consoles in relation to classes and new weapons. So we just gonna ignore the fact ffxiv was made with ps3 in mind and still running with more classes than eso and BDO has double the classes Eso does. Both of which are on ps4.

i agree with what ur saying for new players, but ZOS fully disrespected us in a video and mocked us. and even more so by giving us something so usless like a pet guar we can do nothing with brah, until they smarten up we cannot say they have a great team bc they clearly do not, and im not even sugar coating for new players either, other than that yes new players may not even experience this, however it still is possible depending on how much and how quickly the new player digests and move along in game, especially if they have friends to help them to progress quickly.

I have thousands of hours on my PS4 version of the game. I recently got a gaming PC snd would love to switch if they would come up with some kind of cross save to transfer my account. If they decide to leave behind last gen I would hate to have to start all over again.

Despite the card game, ESO is really really good game. Especially for newer players like you said. Pvp is something zos should fix and communicate the progress of it better. However playing other games will help you with ESO fatigue. Don't that person who only plays ESO, try other games too. Your fatigue will thank you later. I am testing Neverwinter and (be serious now) Conan Exiles. Refreshing.

I read all up about this game, got excited, bought the base game and stopped playing after one weekend. The combat, graphics, movement and UI are pretty clunky for a 2022 game. I'm sorry to say that I'm already back on Skyrim. The potential of ESO is sky high but I'm afraid that they may basically need to rebuild it in a new engine to keep being able to push it into the future 🤷🏻‍♂️

i got into EESO because i love Elder Scrolls lore. I wanted to explore the land and world after skyrim....I loved their chapters. loved the stories...quality on those has dropped...the vampire was the last good one..the oblivion 2.0 eso edition had horrible writing.....just my opinion of course but i think criticism is warranted when quality is going down hill but all new mounts and polymorphs cost crown gems

ESO is a nice game. Great time consumer. This month I realized, that I'm doing something wrong in my life. I'm leveling my virtual character (in fact a number of characters), advancing virtual ranks, wasting my real-life energy on a fictional hobby. I've decided to reduce my gaming appearance aiming to fully quit gaming for good. There's so much to do in real life for what I don't have both time and energy at this moment. I'd like to be so disciplined in my life as it is in ESO while doing daily writs. I want to be this curious while learning as in ESO while figuring out how different skills, abilities and effects synergise with each other. I want to be this communicative in real life as I am when chatting with guild mates in ESO. I want to be this creative in real-life fields as I am when I'm creating new ideas for my charecters and builds. It's time to live real f**ken life, Bruhs! And I'm going to!

yeah you have a pretty reasonable take imo. didn't misrepresent arguments of the community and didn't pretend that nothing good came out of what we got either. respect. as for the people coming back i'd say if you quit before hybrid patch then come back and give it another shot. the game has changed. if you quit after hybrid patch the game is pretty much the same but a little worse at the end game level in regards to diversity of classes in a raid composition. if you're a quester type person that can do a lot of easy quests for lore and story this game is probably up your alley. to me they get repetitive but when i first started playing the game the questing was great and kept me coming back. is it worth playing in 2023? idk. i can't predict if zos will pump out dumb idea after dumb idea for multiple patches in a row again or not. they've given us amazing updates in the past and recency bias has everyone feeling down about the direction of the game. i just try to hold them accountable for their pr statements then not following through or blatant lies they feed to the community in the name of profit. when they give us good updates ill make sure they know cuz i want them to keep it up. your call on if you play the game or not. hope you enjoy it if you decide to pick it up!

To be honest, if they want to drop the old hardware the price for the PS5 has to come down first. It is still way too expensive for many people. Many people don't have 500 to 1000 dollars to spend on luxuries like that. Know what I mean.?

I've just played for a week and all in Morrowind and to me the graphics are very outdated but the colour use, lighting and scene compostion and design is really, really pretty. Beautiful. (I'm speaking for series x which has a bespoke version that uses many PC ultra settings and runs at 1440p and a perfect 60hz. Although i have vrr so it seems perfect to me. I've seen it on xbox one and it looks pretty flat and runs at 30hz. Pretty nasty. PS5 is apparently almost identical to series x) Also love the superb voice acting and the seemingly gigantic amounts of it. My only complaint is they seem to have ported the AI over from the build engine games so they either stand still firing ranged attacks or run straight at me in a straight line and apart from activating powers or jumps thats it. Same difficulty as Skyrim so I have been role playing that I am a hugely powerful badass and just enjoying the power trip and having fun tough-talking my enemies as I wipe them out. Morrowind is my favorite "hardcore" scrolls game but I love how they've depicted that region visually in ESO. So far I find ESO generally to be big and beautiful and lots of fun.

Lol thats exactly how I feel. Sure especially with last patch there are certain flaws like how the game crashes from time to time on PS, but I don't mind all the other alterations at all. It's just that like you said a lot of these dudes have been playing the game long, already got used to or played through the content and thus become slightly bored of it.

Yes both me and my husband have had this issue after using a wayshrine. Sometimes if you wait a couple minutes the buttons on your controller will start working again like normal and sometimes not and we’ve had to close application and go back in. I’m on ps4 pro and he’s on ps5. Not sure why that’s an issue.

Been playing this game since launch day 2013. Zos said they will never let players change the class of existing toons…stupid. Also there needs to be a way to refund maxed out toon you don’t use anymore. Those 2 things have been a burden on players for the past 9 years.

When they killed my build that I worked so hard to get, that hurt me and I lost interest! It took me ages to get the gear that I needed! And doing the same dungeon run for that staff that never dropped, frustrating!!! I quit the game in the end. I would love it if they changed these issues, I would come back.

Only play if you want a company that doesn't care about its players and taking input from them. It is a much more costly game (ironically) but I have been playing and spending a bit on Genshin Impact lately (and I finally quit playing any ESO for now at least, even though I have 100 days of ESO+ left) and they actively survey their users each "round". I am sure they don't change everything due to that, but they do bother to take the surveys (and give token in-game rewards for taking the survey) something I can't see ESO ever doing! And this is a gatcha game where you have LOTS of random pulls to get highlighted characters. You can earn some things in game, but it costs a bit (whales) to get more than a stable - though you can also do reasonably well free to play. They do have 1 nasty twitch quest step in the main storyline, but do quite well other than that. ESO has far more content and potential, especially as an MMO, but almost no interaction with players.

Do to the way xbox works online they can't cross servers with Playstation. This is why FF14 is not available on xbox. Thier servers are the same for all players.

I quit a year ago simply because the the European xbox server is dead. The game is great, but they need to do crossplay servers because the lack of having the ability to play your characters and have your items and cosmetics on all platform is a deal breaker considering how expensive these cosmetics are cost in real money!!! a waste of time and money to me... im now playing pso2ngs and ffxiv. much better value for money.

Still hoping for a new system next year. 🤞🏻 Although I didn't think I would I actually enjoy tales of tribute, though I think it is not enough for a whole expac. I really think they should do something different with the ranked rewards though (maybe a horse mount with tribute themed barding..?) Honestly the biggest W for Zos this year is not having to grind random dungeons for transmutes anymore. I just do my Tales Of Tribute dailies. I really hope next year will be something bigger and better.

ToT was a stupid waste of time and likely far simpler than true MMO content. I only played the intro once. They did finally add the option to skip that, so I had run that clipped part (to shut up the barker) on some alts.

Aside from server issues, which literally every MMO I have ever played had and still has, the monetization is absolutely, disgusting EA levels of annoying. It is so in your face and you'd think with all the money they make from the Store, they could overhaul the awful combat animations. Guess not. The base game isn't that bad about it. There's enough content in there to enjoy free for a couple years with the only annoyance being carry capacity, which you can easily upgrade with money 😑. But specific classes and and DLC can ONLY be accessed via the Store. Though there is a Trade System that will allow you to trade with players, premium currency and regular gold. So you can buy things normally locked behind a paywall if you grind enough gold. That said, this is easily in my Top 3 MMO's list. It does so much right, and what it does right there is so much of, that I can almost totally forgive the extreme monetization. Mission-wise, it does not feel like most mmo's. It's very story-centric and the world is loaded to the brim with lore. Every single quest, no matter how tiny or large, is fully voice acted, and voice acted well. There are very few instances of classic mmo quests such as "kill 10 bears" or "collect 15 wildflowers". In fact, I don't remember any. The plots aren't always mind blowing, but each quest is at least consistently decent.

;TLDR I would recommend ESO as worth it for the new player. For returning players, keep your expectations low. I'm kind of on the fence about ESO's worth in 2023. Yes, it is a massive game that has more than enough content for the new player. It will more than keep a new player occupied for awhile. But as with any game, the amount of PVE content is finite. On the other side of the coin and using the High Isle expansion as an example, I felt like this year's content update showed signs of ZOS's declining interest in its game. Comparing High Isle to say Greymoor, Summerset, or Elsweyr, High Isle falls short. Then there's the combat and gear changes. All I can ask is why the f**k is this even a thing? The message I get from such changes is that ZOS doesn't know what they want ESO to be.

I actually like the card game too. But yeah, the rewards suck. It's hard to understand how to get more decks or new cards. I even did the full card game quest and got that deck. But I still got bored because I can't figure out how to get another deck. As a casual player I need better leads and direction in the game. I play console and I never finished the Psijic skill line for the same reason. No clear direction especially on console. I get lost, I get bored, I quit. When the open world is that massive, throw me a bone already. Console has no add ons! But to fully enjoy the game it seems like they are required! Therefore I'm out.

if you pve things like running dungeons,crafting,housing and good overland content eso is great for that eso hasnt changed in years for its pve but do not i repeat do not play eso for its pvp. eso has the worst pvp out of any mmo terrible class.gear sets and mythic item balance.

Last gen blaming is typical, Its a fraud, i can run Warframe(a much more visually intense game) on highest setting easily, they Limit their content because of other reasons, most likely money. The reason is simple that Corporations become more greedy over the years. If you want to know more about what will happen to eso just Look at Star wars the old republic

Yeah they not dropping PS4 support next year at all. Not until majority of PS4 player base has a PS5 and that's just not even close.

It's pay-to-win which is unfortunate because it's a great game otherwise. But pay-to-win is an absolute game breaker for me.

Never thought about the old consoles - but yeah, I think they should ditch those finally. Good news at least is that hardware renewal for EU comes march, consoles soon after. and that they check base systems in small updates, which i hope gives us a lot of improvement. totally agree with what you say/suggest. good video as always.

The PS4 is not that old and PS5s are still hard to get. Making "old consoles" is just that, excuses. Plenty of improvements were noted in the forums and completely ignored. We don't even have multi-filet (fish) without an addon (thus not on console) even though they did finally add multi crafting in.

I disagree about the quality of the story. Compare the High Istle storyline with the main quest, the alliance questline, or DLC storylines like Elsweyr. The characters and story are boring and forgettable. The best parts of the story were the ones that involved the alliance leaders.

I just grew tired of their half-baked systems. I was excited for the Companion system. I thought we could craft and put any armour set on them, along with any skills.... But no, they are just incredibly limited and boring. Can't be assed with the game.

ESO could be great game but devs are not using full potensial and gaming performance every year is getting worse.About additional features added to the game such as armory system is just replacing before known addons that game community is still or was using. Devs are making this game pay to win. If you want new card game or antiquity or any additional system you need to pay all your money for DLCs that these features are placed to.And in case of armory system you need to pay for additional slots or even armory assistant to get full function of this system.By the way armory system has some limit where you cant use this inside of trial between boss fights unlike addons can do. Another topic is ZOS tends to sell the shittiest goods for money.Whenever your game is broken,they always repair crown store first,time for fixing stuff in the entire game is postponing 2 incremental patches(a whole month).Is it normal? But there are many game bugs that remain unfixed for many years. And now zos want to rearchitecture eso. It means zos will not promise if that fix the game or even destroy game as a whole. If there are people who stays in eso still for years,this is time to go out. I dont know but there could exist the risk that rearchitecture of the game would be called apocalyptical end of eso

I got to be honest i dont care for it not the worst thing i played but its not really fun seems boring even from the start i dont like the menu littered with microtransactions in it and its confusing the way its laid out they should have stuck with skyrim menu with skills and perks in the upper menu select and the right being all your weapons and items, magic and perks on the left and could have just put the store at the bottom since the map is on the select button but i dont like the fact that its like a werid diablo rip off like why are the magic spells limited to a weapon you have equiped thats terrible i wanted to do a pure magic build like i did in skyrim where i can summon my weapons and use them having weapons haven selected skills exclusively to them is not fun and there is no favorite system like in skyrim to quickly swap between weapons making experimenting with different weapons more of a pain ive only played about 2hours of the game but the combat is terrible they shouldve just done basic elderscrolls combat and had expansions with tons of quest the problem with mmos in general is the boring gameplay and feeling dual

ESO's biggest problem is that it is limited by the single-player RPG games made directly by BGS. They can't create a new race of bird people, for example. They can't even bring in Dwemer as a playable race. If ESO led the IP/narrative, ZOS could do those things.

No, Si vas para el pvp, no lo instales. No le dan mantenimiento a los server el delay y lag es injugable (3 seg delay por skill) , tanto así que nos ignoran y nos banean por quejarnos en sus streams, la comunidad pvp siempre son los mismos y está lleno de bugs. Cuidado con estos videos. No te dirán todo. Ellos no lo han jugado durante 6 años aprox. incluso tienen problemas en el pve. En xbox lo están estrujando el bolsillo a los jugadores y creo que pronto lo cerrarán en esta plataforma.

I have never once played that card game. Hell I just now started doing those stupid digging things. I don’t like it at all I just play with a 2 bar build.. This is the first year that I have really played pve. I leveled up all my toons in pvp. the server can’t handle it. So laggy.

Honestly no. ZOS is developing new AAA game and ESO doesn't get enough support from dev team. Base game is too easy. After you get half decent gear all base game fights become too easy = boring to play. Endgame (especially pvp/Cyro) has been without maintenance for years and is really laggy in primetime and full of bugs and exploits. Close to unplayable when lag hits the fan. ESO is dying game. Use your money and time on something that works...
