Active impingement test is also known as Dugas' test. That can be on boards. Thanks for a great video!

at 2:42 on this video, I feel same pain on my shoulder when I lift my bent elbow up. My chiro says it is just my muscles are tight.

Jancen - you might want to get that checked out and see exactly what muscles are tight or if there really is an impingement going on in your shoulder.

***** I believe that I have an impingement as there is pain that radiates down the top of my arm at this position. All other positions seem okay for me. I will have an ultrasound soon. A similar pain is starting on my left shoulder.

what are the long term effects of this? i have diagnosed rotator cuff and elbow tendonitis. its been diagnosed for a year. i was in the middle of the season, went to the doctor and he told me i had it. i did'nt do any therapy or excersices and the pain went away. now im playng again and it feels like my tendons are pulling my shoulder blade and you can feel my shoulder blade and shoulders are not in the right place. im 17 i should'nt be having these problems yet lol

the Active Impingement test is spot on. I rotated my affected arm for the first two movements he demonstrated with little pain. As soon as I placed my hand onto the non affected shoulder then lifted I certainly felt pain then.

So impinged shoulder across chest to the unimpinged shoulder then lift the elbow and pain = impingement? If so I've got one. Thanks.

I feel a pain bringing my left arm to shoulder height straight out in front of me and twisting the wrist. Is this impingement?

It seems that i have a shoulder impingement in my shoulder, however my right upper trapezius is also tight, will my impingement go away when my trapezius becomes normal again (by stretching it), or should i see a physical therapist?

nahid falsename Always best to see a specialist before prescribing your own stretching routine. The last thing you want to do is hurt your shoulder more

my left shoulder almost always pops when i spin it and i feel slight discomfort when i do the last test, and my left deltoid is a bit smaller than my right one because of the discomfort i feel when working out with it, any idea what this could be?
@gainsandglory68089 жыл бұрын
Elemxnt45 no clue. Get it checked out as shoulder injuries are not something you want to mess around with. I would also recommend you get a book called Starting Strength by Mark Rippetoe. It is about basic barbell training and goes in depth on a lot of things. The best way in my opinion to avoid these types of injuries is to strengthen the muscles and tendons in your body which barbell training does. It also improves stabilization and increases bone density.
