Loved your video, I have a question please. I am trying to convert my Q-Scan 250 to led light. Can you please tell me what type of transformer I need to supply the 12v to the main controller board PCB? I want to make sure it has enough power for the stepper motors that are connected to the main controller board. Thank you

Video appearance critique (not the repair content): 1. Head shots: No partial heads! Giant eyes and cheeks just look bizarre. Don't distract us with pores and follicles. Either show at least the full head (to the shirt collar) with proper lighting, or stay out of the shot (voice-over instead). 2. Lighting: Can't have too much light when so much of the target is black. Set the light bright enough to illuminate things that must be visible, then use shadow placement to provide "just enough" detail for the darker bits. Use a ring light when zoomed in, and at least two light sources (or a single large-area source, like Dave's set of overhead panels) when zoomed out. For larger dark areas, intentionally adding glare/reflections/highlights can help. 3. Background clutter: What were those instruments on the floor? Reduce (or organize) visual clutter. Import a still-frame into Paint, white-out the subject pixels, then look at what's left in the frame. Hang backdrops or select a simpler background. It will help to keep the viewer's attention literally focused on what you are doing. If the background can't be organized, simplified or hidden, at least ensure it is slightly blurred (aperture set for shallower Depth of Field). As for the content itself, you are doing great! I'd say your commentary and subject matter are easily better than most, so it's primarily the videography bits (artistic and technical) needing improvement, which should come quickly with practice and experimentation. Good job! It is totally watchable as-is.

Thanks BobC, all good points. When I was running through Editing it, I thought the headshots were not right, but I was trying to do what Dave from EEVblog does, where if he thinks the footage is passable, he does not cut it out or reshoot it. He just puts it in, and makes a mental note for next time to not do that (Do you think I should use a pore cleanser? ;) ). Definately want to get more lighing in place. The Junk all over the floor, Yea, I need to clean that up. The Wife has also been promising (threatning) to do a clean up of the garage. Unfortunately my camera (or cameras, depends which one I use) is one of the cheap consumer ones, so it it not so easy to get shallow depth of field. Thanks for the tips. P

Inductor is easy, just grab the nearest scrap PC power supply and you will have a choice from there, just grab any smallish one on the secondary side that fits.
