I am glad there are so many here who admire and appreciate Kay Kay Menon. Irrfaan Khan is doubtless a jewel who doesn't need big budget or sets or music to carry an entire film on his shoulders, and KKM is right up there. The very fact that KK is not happy with 4/5 of his efforts shows how much standard he puts on himself. Kay Kay Menon was born in Kerala to Malayali parents but moved to Mumbai within 1 or 2 years or so. If he had stayed in Kerala, I guess he would have got more recognition and respect in the field of acting. I mean like Bengali cinema, Malayalam cinema audience respects, appreciates realistic cinema. Commercial movies are in plenty there but still, realistic cinema have more scope and enjoy better respect in Kerala than Bollywood.
