Very beautiful plants ! By the way , how are your Warcewicii doing? Do you have any updates? My warcewicii finally grow a pseudobulb and is almost 8 cm long , what I have notice is that this species dry very quickly . I don’t know if it’s going to bloom , but at least I got a new pseudobulb ! Hope yours are doing better now and make an update of them soon !

Oh, good question! I've got a few experiments running and it seems like the media with more moisture retention is doing much better with this species than with orchiata.

I do like all three of yours. Their lips are so much nicer than mine. The shape is better especially on the first one. I can only get mine to bloom end of August to September never in the spring. I don't know why. All my orchids bloom 1 -2 months after everyone else's.

Do you know the heritage of yours? Are the parents listed on the tag?
@patriciasorchids39993 жыл бұрын
@@SVKLOrchids Unfortunately it doesn't. I think it maybe due to something I am doing, as my C. gaskelliana doesn't bloom until October/November time. They both grow two mature pseudobulbs a year but they only bloom on the summer/fall one. I will figure it out, for now I will blame feeding at the wrong time😂

Beautiful ones! Mine had a slow down during winter, but last month pushed out mass of new roots and started growing again. Still maturing new growths. I guess here up north we are a bit behind. I took a plunge this year and ordered the first two new Catasetum types and one Catt. amethystoglossa. Little worried about the amethystoglossa here in my environment and central heated houses during winter. Mind if I ask for an advice? I read the amethystoglossa would require cooler temperatures during winter. How long that would be and would it be ok next to my Dracula citrina and Phragmipedium Hanne Popow? I have one room that never goes above 50-60 F ( around 15 °C) during winter. Not sure did I got the Fahrenheit right there. :) Little bit worried did I took a too big challenge there. Take care and stay safe.
@SVKLOrchids3 жыл бұрын
No need for a cool winter with amethystoglossa! Keep it at the same temps you grow your other Cattleyas. I think you'll be happy you got this one! It's stunning to see in person.
