Don't doubt this is going to be a point of contention, but I love your local content especially when it involves the canning river system, the crabbing,dabbing for prawns,scooping crabs and fishing from a kayak, absolutely awesome stuff, remember the huge marron caught in suburbia, mind-blowing and very relatable, would love to see more of this stuff rather than the deep blue stuff, beggars can't be choosers,lol...

G'day brother thanks mate hardest part up there is enough ice💯but you gotta look after your catch, pretty precious fish to be wasting 👌I must admit I was pretty gutted when that cod came up with all those hooks in its mouth, thought it was a shark at first was just like a dead weight that wouldn't budge....He would of been thinking bloody he'll caught again... 🤔😁👌

The only way to release a cod as big as that is to tie it to the anchor with some 20-30lb line with a small hook in the lip and slowly lower it to the bottom. They regain enough strength to break the line or straighten the hook after a short time once their swim bladder is compressed by the depth.

G'day mate love a landbase session 😁🤙 but for Coral bay head south passage to five fingers for squid or we usually head out to the 50m- 110m for Reds etcccc shallower you'll get spangos, Spanish flag, red throat etc same if you head through the north passage plenty of squid io there too just look for limestone weed ground you have the pretty much the same fish north and south what size boat you have brother😁🤙

G'day brother yes it did took ages to get him like 20mins of swimming him back poor bugger...he's been caught so many times, so many hooks was surprised he was still eating. When I hooked that Cod my rod didn't budge thought it was a shark at first...had to release his swim bladder to get him back down💯🙏🙏🙏🙏

G'day brother thanks for the message 👌 depends on your reel size brother I've seen mick pull up some stonker fish with 30lb braid is more tha efficient, but this trip being up north 50lb was used. My stradic is Spooled with 89lb Shimano grappler braid but same diameter as a 50lb braid and haven't had any complaints on it. Ive used that stradic for everything, surf fishing, rock fishing , steep point , coral bay , Perth metro dhuis and recently pulled a 30kg+ Wahoo trolling and still have never snapped it💯 But most important is you braid to leader knot buddy gotta make sure that is the go💯😁👌🐟🐟🐟🐟

⁠@@jasonr5989in braid, you’re probably losing half or more of your braid line strength using a double uni. A FG knot is almost full strength. If you’ve got 80lb line on and losing half your strength you’re at 40lb which is more than enough but you could be fishing thinner line at the same breaking strain
