It's a shame the audio has that high pitch noise, but it's great that the performance and interview were captured in the first place (partially, at least), so it can be preserved. Maybe we could clean it out nowadays! I wonder if the noise cancellation technology of the RTX cards can do the job.

You might think the band name is Mr. J, because of the set; but that's the song name! The band is Show-Ya, and this is from the album Queendom which was released March 1, 1986. This kind of promotional appearance would probably be close to the release of the album; it still has to be sometime in 1986. From the neon sign on the wall, we can infer that the name of the show is ヤング スタジオ 101. (Young Studio 101). According to the Japanese Wikipedia, that show started in April 1986 and ran until 1988.
