Great four part series. Very nice job. And compliments to Harry again on his camera work while you build.

Thanks again! Harry would rather be doing more stuff with the power tools than holding the GoPro, but one step at a time.

Thanks for the comment. Ive procrastinated on that for a long time haven't I? I am torn between the convenience for others of making a list against it being seen as a 'sales pitch' with all those horrid affiliate links which I hate.

Great video, thank you. We are currently fitting our tambour door to our shower cubicle in our Boxer, and are similarly nervous of cutting the door! Can you tell us what blade you used on the jigsaw to cut the door please?
@wiltshirecustomcamper72036 ай бұрын
for the wood and very fine 'scroll' blade, for the white wall cladding actually and fairly large tooth rough cut wood saw blade.

Hi Just doing my shower build on my Boxer, just wondering if you have the dimensions for the Door cut out and the toilet access cutout? Your video's are really helping my build thank you.
@wiltshirecustomcamper72038 ай бұрын
They were not really set to any particular measurement, i just went with what I could just about squeeze my fat belly through on the door front. the toilet will be governed by the loo you have chosen of course. hope that helps?

Really enjoying your series and giving me lots of food for thought for my forthcoming conversion. Can you recall the total number of furniture and ceiling boards you purchased and were they all 8x4 sheets. Cheers

I bought 4x ceiling boards and 5x furniture board altogether. hope that helps. good luck with your build.

Hi, we're doing our own self build and was wondering where you got your bathroom tambour door kit from?
@wiltshirecustomcamper7203 Жыл бұрын
the tambour door kit came from Magnum Motorhomes. hope that helps. there are others that sell one also, have a good look around.

As always, so are you having a shower curtain inside the shower to cover the door when showering or is the door waterproof on the inside, if that makes sense...
@wiltshirecustomcamper72032 жыл бұрын
The tambour door is waterproof but with so many components inside that need to be sealed like the toilet back and sides, the sink all around etc, for belt and braces on the water front a shower curtain inside seemed a plan. also stops the loo from getting wet which is not comfortable.

Great job..could I ask what size your shower cubicle worked out to be with the bench toilet and tray and pull down basin..? And which basin was it? 😊👍🏼
@wiltshirecustomcamper72033 жыл бұрын
will measure and get back to you, keep forgetting to be hones! the basin came from Magnum as did the storage cabinet and the toilet, Oh! and the tray. actually, almost everything has come from Magnum pretty much. They have basically cornered the market with 2 simple things: answering their phones and delivery within 2 days. Cant rate them highly enough compared to most others.
@nur5ey13 жыл бұрын
@@wiltshirecustomcamper7203 yes indeed, I fully understand that one!! All I was concerned about with their board was that the surface wasn't durable enough as it isn't a true formica surface..how durable would you say it was? Does it mark easily do you think? So many questions lol..anyway thank you for you're reply and cheers for the great video series..😊👍🏼
@wiltshirecustomcamper72033 жыл бұрын
@@nur5ey1 It does mark quite easily to be fair. I think the gloss finish options are probably better than the matt like the carbon grey I went for. but if handle with care it is OK. Oh! internal dimensions are 985 x 670. if you use the same items as I did be careful that the basin hangs off the back of the the toilet quite a way so don't measure the tray and toilet and think that's it! I only found this out after it had all arrived and my shower room is now a good 15ish cm longer than I was expecting which has totally buggered up the cabinet I was building behind it. My advice if funds and space allow is to have everything 'on site' before you start to ensure good measurements and the easy making of amendments if required.

Great job can I ask who supplied the tambour Door.
@wiltshirecustomcamper72032 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching and for the question. the shower tambour and the smaller tambours all came from EvoDesign. I will be brutally honest and say the shower door is great but the smaller ones for the cupboards I think there are better ones on the market. the shower door comes with top and bottom rail and all of it will need to be cut to size to fit your project. easy done with a jigsaw though....

Where did you get the edging strips from?
@wiltshirecustomcamper72032 жыл бұрын
The aluminium corners and furniture board came from Morlands, the internal uPVC cladding and white plastic internal edging came from eBay, just search hygenic wall cladding.

Where did you get the led light for the shower? Ours kept burning out twice lol
@wiltshirecustomcamper72033 жыл бұрын
It came from Magnum Motorhomes, their product code is M2354. cant say how good it is as not really used it yet, it is nice and bright for the space though.

@@wiltshirecustomcamper7203 that’s awesome, could you also link the product number of the wood you used in your shower? And also your overhead cabinets. We would like to convert the Fiat Ducato L4H3 just like you for our next van. 😊
@wiltshirecustomcamper72033 жыл бұрын
@@theoteam4641 The furniture board is from Morland UK and is called Carbon Grey, the toilet, sink and cabinet are all from Magnum, it is the ones that match the C400 style toilet. The overhead cabinets you may have seen in the community post are self built, again using the Morland furniture board and Ikea Ringhult gloss white kitchen doors, video on those coming very soon. hope that helps.

@@wiltshirecustomcamper7203 oh wow that’s awesome thanks for that. I thought the overhead cabinets may have been cut using CNC machine. I’ll like to buy the components of the next build like overhead cabinets so that way it makes my life easier etc lol. I’ll keep an eye out for the video. In regards to your air suspension, I had one like yours and it didn’t do much to the van so I went with 2 stage bag. I think I’ll go with a 3 stage bag next time lol
@wiltshirecustomcamper72033 жыл бұрын
@@theoteam4641 Good luck with your build. if you want pre-made cabinets check out Evo Design www.evomotiondesign.co.uk/ , theirs look pretty good and UrbanArkOverland on youtube has used these. I think I am going to back up the airbags with a leaf spring upgrade to the 2 leaf HD versions as well for belt and braces on the situation, and as I am not doubt going to be overweight or very very close will then look to up-plate it when done. all the best.

I love tambour doors for their look! I am always wondering how people deal with hairs (of all kind...) and soap residues in the bottom track.
@wiltshirecustomcamper72033 жыл бұрын
Very good questions, my concern was actually water pooling in the corner behind the bend so I am fitting a full wrap around shower curtain as well to stop that and also stop water going all over the toilet and sink. I think this is well worth doing as no matter how good we think we are at building and sealing everything, water WILL escape. thanks for the comment and for watching.
