i do like the newer one better which is probably not the most original opinion hah but i find it absolutely fascinating how different you can make the same song. the two versions have completely different vibes for me, obviously the same song with a ton of similarities but the new one has such a more somber, rainy urban concretescape like ripped on speed and androgynous feel to it, this one is more like on-edge and kind of too out of it on ketamine with some good friends or somethin, i actually dunno what this version feels like hah just way more frantic while the new one's real smooth like a panther prowlin around in the forest at night, this one's like a chicken runnin around and makin a ruckus.

Lipstick is kind of Goth and this is just that song except his fun traditional sound! I love them both equally.

Well said. I feel the same about a lot of his remade material. Prime example would be L'estat, which is my favorite song of his, and while I searched the version I heard (the Before Today version) I found an older lo-fi crazed out recording that really grew on me and kind of gives a different vibe. Now I can't tell which one I really like better.
