An ingenious idea with only requiring water source and a propane tank

What is connected to the pipe right at the propane tank? Is that a gauge? To tell how much you have left or how much you’ve used?
@thegarnerfamilyfarmproject1748
@thegarnerfamilyfarmproject1748 22 күн бұрын
That is a regulator that you would find on all propane appliances. But you could find a gauge at Lowe’s or an RV store if you want to monitor how much propane remains.

Would this work with a gravity fed system and RV hose? Does it need electricity? Right now we have a 55 gal drum on top of our hill and ran a garden hose to a smaller hose that runs to a small hot camp shower unit. Upgrading the system to an IBC tote “water tower” and using heated/buried RV hose, then splitting it to run to sinks in our cabin.

Yes, all it takes is a D battery to run the igniter I guess

Ok so how do you keep the temp from continuously climbing? Is there a way to regulate it??
@thegarnerfamilyfarmproject1748
@thegarnerfamilyfarmproject1748 10 ай бұрын
The left hand knob increases the flame. The right hand knob slows the water flow. Those adjustments help regulate the temperature.

Yea until you see cost of replacements or to fix it

@thegarnerfamilyfarmproject1748 Жыл бұрын
Replacement I think would be about $170. Because that’s what I paid for the first one. I think it’s very economical and well worth the money.

I bought one similar. If it breaks, I’ll shit can it and replace the thing. Oh darn.

It's nice that you can hook it directly to a portable tank. How long does a tank last?
@thegarnerfamilyfarmproject1748
@thegarnerfamilyfarmproject1748 Жыл бұрын
I haven’t run the tank out yet. I think all total we have taken 7-8 showers. When I run out of propane, I will try to remember to tell people how many showers I was able to get out of one tank

Can you connect a rainwater tank to this setup?
@thegarnerfamilyfarmproject1748

Yes, I’m sure you can as long as you’re creating some water pressure

It is just using the pressure from the garden hose running to it

I’ve taken several showers and still haven’t run out of gas. When I do run out, I’ll try to give an estimate of how many showers you might get.

-You have this hard line PEXed in. During the winter do you ever have to drain the lines?
@thegarnerfamilyfarmproject1748
@thegarnerfamilyfarmproject1748 8 ай бұрын
This will be our first winter. When we know it will be cold I’ll disconnect it and leave the valve open on the connection to the hose. The bathroom has pex, but I still run a garden hose over to it.
