In this Monday Afternoon Multi-App Food Delivery Ride-Along we took to the streets during lunch hour only to see so many declined orders on doordash. We declined so many that we thought we might break doordash. Doordash wasnt all to blame though as we delivered in the rain for Uber Eats as well.

Lou and Mary yes I’ve used that feature as mostly I work late night in my market and it’s actually helpful specially when you deal with nonresponsive customers

I don't think we're supposed to do drinks because of handler permits and liability issues (imagine, god forbid, a customer claims poisoning or actually gets hospitalized and the investigation shows a non employee filling the drink)... most places freak out if I even try. Jack and the Box once got weird when I tried to have them use my drink carrier. He said to wait until after he handed me the completed order 😂

Only Wingstop makes me do that. You do it because they have the ability to make your life miserable, like making you wait 10-15 minutes for an order that's been ready for a bit. Best to stay on their good side.

Completely agree. Also, if it isn't crossing the legal line it definitely has nothing to do with picking up an order and delivering it. Are they going to make us bag the order too? How about make the food? I can even understand the places that don't have a drink area behind the counter wanting to ask the drivers to get the drinks but that is a design of the restaurant problem.

I fill the drinks sometimes, but we shouldn’t be made to. I’m sure some drivers hands have germs, gasoline, etc. on them. Am definitely not ordering food after doing some deliveries myself and seeing the potential nastiness 😂

what i have learned is that if you give a big tip (say $10) dd will add a low tip order to your driver and the big tip order (yours) will be delivered after the low tip order

I love office buildings, I find they order in groups which means larger tips. I also get. Lot of catering orders for office buildings and the ones by me have visitor spots up front so it’s usually quick and easy to park and run it fast

I’ve seen that item substitute feature in my market and I’ve used it before. But lately I haven’t seen it unless it’s only for specific restaurants.

On that Mogu order you should have taken both. It looked as if they were going the same direction. Could have made $11+ for 6 miles. Especially since it was slow. Unless you don’t dirty stack which I understand.

You guys should try New York. I here that that new law is good out there in New York. I talk to two drivers out there and they say they consistently do $30 hr now. They accept everything and they take there time to get to the customer.

Be careful with that. They know how long they think an order should take and how long you're taking. If you take 15 minutes to do a dropoff they think should be done in 10, eventually they'll drop you. Truth is, you'll always make more money if you deliver more orders under this new system. I got a very nice addition to my DD pay in my last check.

I was cracking up when you saw those big drinks. I can't stand it also and always wonder can they can make the drinks bigger...😅 Where I live lots of hotels and amazes me how many people say leave at door...it's a nightmare finding it and parking

I would keep food in delivery bag and take into building rather than have customers food bag get rained on when it's wet outside from not using a delivery bag. Maybe a pet peeve, but if I received my food and bag was super wet from not being covered I definitely would not think to tip extra, and could get you a 4 star review.

@brendaplunkett8659 In the beginning I did it for the experience as to get my feet wet then I gotten so use to it I just kept doing it. And to be honest I do make alot of money doing do, which actually surprised me. For example as I calculate everything in the morning I made $20.20 an hr yesterday on Active Time.
