Hiya Steve and Lilly 👋🤩 great to see you guys back, and wow this is one of my favourite songs from the 70s. I also remember hearing it being played at quite a few wedding receptions in the late 70s / 80s when i was a kid and it was a total floor filler. The background music is brilliant and i love the bell chime bits. I didn't know that guy didn't actually sing it, that came as a surprise. I absolutely love the footage from German TV, love how they're all dressed and yep there is some dodgy fashions there. I love to watch music reactions from German, Dutch and Italian audiences because you can see they really love the music. Great video guys, i really enjoyed this and i totally love the song 💜

I could listen to this song over and over, i really really like it a lot, reminds me of all the good times we had in the 70s as kids🤩long sunny days, great tv shows, great music and awesome carefree days 🌞👍

Great reaction. A real blast from the past! I remember this when I was younger than Lilly is now! About 5 or 6, I think. The clothes were very much of their time. They always remind me of Mud, who are best known for their hit, 'Tiger Feet.' Then, there's always Showaddywaddy, who had quite a few hits in the 70's, including, 'Under the Moon of Love', and, 'You Got What It Takes.'

The music then was so much fun Slade Trex Bowie Elton john etc. Alan Williams did record a vocal track with him singing the high notes but he was miming to his own vocal on the live recording whereas It was Paul Da Vinici on the original record. I got this info from "Wings Of Pegasus " blogger.

I listen to this song every once in awhile, the vocal is remarkable. Don't feel cheated Lilly with a lip synchronized song,( so many are,) from the seventies and back. Particularly on television. You looked like you enjoyed it, Grand dad was sure happy showing this to you. Great reaction. You both enjoy your day.

Thank you both, it is amazing to see you mentor her with these great songs of my youth. 1974 was when this one came out, and I was 12 wondering how he hit those high notes, then came the Bee Gees (they were the best and from the Isle of Mann as well). Never the less, I do enjoy your reactions, Lilly and her sister both are becoming very knowledgeable with our music history, GREAT JOB!!!

I wonder if he ever did Butlins? years ago I was at Butlins and the show one night was some bloke who's name I didn't recognise at the time, but who sang Sugar Baby Love, he was so bloody good that I was absolutely convinced that it was the original singer, although I never took the time to find out for certain. That was back in the days when you could see some well known acts at Butlins, three others I definitely saw were Mud, George M'crea, and Gerry and the Pacemakers. In fact I can still remember Gerry Marsden putting his hand on my young daughters head as we were walking down the stairs on the way out and saying to her "Hello little girl" She grew up to be Lilly's mum.

I was 12 when this song was released. I remember going to the junior disco at a local community hall and dancing to it. I'm glad Lilly liked it. It's great that she is being introduced to the music from past decades. May I suggest a few she may like... Wuthering Heights by Kate Bush Happy Together by The Turtles Pretty Flamingo by Manfred Mann Love Grows by Edison Lighthouse Everlasting Love by Love Affair Those last two are among my favourite songs of all time.

You need to watch the reactuon by Pegasus he analyzes both recordings by Paul & Allan. He shows both men are very simiplar but Paul was actually on the original recording (I think he means the album) but wasn't supposed to be. However, on the tv recording of Allan singing this song, Allan had pre recorded the song and is miming to his own voice/recording. Go & have a watch

Listening to the 2014 performance, you'd be forgiven for thinking its a recorded playback of the original from 1974! It's identical to how it sounds often played on our local radio station.

Paul Da Vinci was the original singer when 'Sugar Baby Love' was recorded and released. Da Vinci decided not to join the The Rubettes. Da Vinci later had a minor hit as a solo artist in the 1970s with a song called 'Your Baby Ain't Your Baby Anymore.' He sang a similar falsetto throughout the song as to that on 'Sugar Baby Love.'

Poor Lilly... subjecting her to this once would have been bad enough, but you did it twice! No way Lilly could have been so naughty as to deserve that! So much good music out there but you chose to inflict this drivel on her. The Child Welfare Authorities will probably come after you for this heinous crime. I hope Lilly wasn't too traumatised and she recovers from this ordeal with no recurring nightmares.
