from another video in other channel ,FSD managed to evade a plastic bag sweeping to the car,the driver was about to take over think it is doing something funny,then he saw the bag..it's amazing,I think full self drive are very close.

BRAVO!! Great sunset! Chromatherapy!!! Dune OST still on the radio! :) Notes - Hesitancy anomaly at 1:22 - Great lane discipline on the highway. (Not so good on stretch from from 42:20-Everyone else following the highway, apart from us! Leads to an issue for other drivers at 44:04 ). Very good road manner at 39:08 and 45:04. Almost perfect! The machine is learning. Gratitude!!

great write up thanks! QQ: why was 1:22 a hesitancy anomaly? From what he said at 1:17-1:23 FSD predicted the other car would come around the lorry so the tesla waited... seemed really well handled situation to me and not hesitancy ...or did i miss something? Thx

@@kc-me6wl My pleasure. It's 50:50 but technically the lane of the opposing car is blocked. Therefore the other vehicle is obliged to wait for the oncoming lane to be clear before proceeding. Having said that our car did exactly what I would have done! (Just in case! :)

Very soon no one except car collectors, outdoorsmen, or race track drivers will even consider buying a car that doesn't have FSD. This will pull the remaining rug out from under the OEM manufacturers. Sandy Munro said that it will take three years at minimum for an OEM to design, tool up, and start producing a car that can use Tesla's FSD. What he was implying is that the OEMs should already have ink on a contract with Tesla and be in the design process already OR it's over. It will be too late for them to start AFTER FSD is perfected. In those three years the demand for Teslas AND ONLY Tesla vehicles will go through the roof. Everyone will want an FSD capable car. No person that drives a commute to work, school, or has a family will sacrifice not having FSD unless they are complete paupers. It may well be in the interest of the state to help those that cannot afford an FSD vehicle to get one. Otherwise it would be like denying medical care to people based on income..... Oh wait... never mind.

I’ve never really had any problem with it on the freeway. I have issues is around town. And typically the main problem is simply being in the wrong lane to make a turn. Waiting too long to move over into the lane it needs to be in. Especially in traffic. Most recently after making a left-hand turn onto a 3 lane street the car stayed in the far left lane. Until probably 150 feet from the right hand turn and then it decided needed to turn. Which was impossible due to the traffic and would be a problem in almost any situation. So I had to take over because you can’t stop on the road by car tries to move over. It does the same thing consistently.

Its going to be a very long time before its near perfect. FSD still cant handle a ball rolling in the street or consistently merging etc.

@@GoatDirt Were you able to watch the video? How did FSD handle the delivery truck, where it predicted unexpected movements? What do you think is the success rate of human drivers in the two cases you bring up? On average, I mean, once they can stop texting. The vital issue is that FSD is already magnitudes better than the average US driver. In Europe, we allow people with just a US driver's license to rent and drive all around without additional requirements. We sure as hell would welcome FSD here. It'll take nothing for FSD to learn all the country-specific laws and rules (unlike our US visitors). So, go ahead, Elon. Hit us, and we'll respond more positively than you can imagine.
