Love by Grace and Lara Fabian were brought to fame in Brazil when the song was picked to be the anthem of the character Camila in the novela/soap opera “Laços de Familia”: there is especially a very famous and touching scene, with the song being played entirely, where the hairs of Camila are completely cut and she finished completely shaved, as she is fighting a cancer. The song and Lara became auperstar in brazil after It and I believe she topped the brazil charts for weeks at that time.

Totally agree: I've never seen a cover of this that matched the original for precision control that in turn allows for such em9tionsl texture. She's _very_ g8fted at being 8n tune with what sounds have what emotional effect 9n the listener. And that she wrote it too, like she does the majority of her material? She's an amazing all-around artist.

Lara didn't write this song. It was written by Dave Loggins and Wayne Tester and was first recorded by Wynonna Judd in 1996. Wynonna sang it well but Lara (or someone in her team) made some changes to the bridge melody and inserted the keychange in the last chorus that improved the song itself. Add to that Lara's voice and heartfelt interpretation and she OWNED the song.

The concert you're watching is From Lara With Love recorded in 1999 to promote her first English Album "Lara Fabian" released in 1999/2000. Also, Lara Fabian wasn't the first person to record this song. In 1996 it was a track on Wynonna Judd's album Revelation. She sang it well but Lara took it, tweaked it and OWNED it when she recorded it in 1999. Then she improved on that with the further tweaks she made in her live performances.
