Lost in Paradise always makes me cry, between Athena searching for Odysseus and then the ending with Odysseus being tormented by the voices of those he knows/knew chanting at him. 'Fun" fact: Not every version of the Odyssey has Odysseus have kids with Calypso. The original translation also lacks the children, it is just very specifically one version of the retelling of the story that has the children. Hoever but every version does have Odysseys magically forced to sleep with Calypso.

Thank you! Fox is my favorite cohost when I’m streaming so I was super happy to join him on this react series. I think it’s always fun to have someone you bounce off of well, everything gets so much more entertaining!

If you noted this already then it slipped my mind but it should be noted that the suitors were noted of Ithaca. Most of the men went with Odysseus to the Trojan War which left old men, women and children. The suitors were actually men from neighboring areas that heard the king was away and came to try and wed in to being the king. All the men who would of sided with the king or removed the suitors had sailed off to the Trojan War so all Penelope could do in the interim was placate the men with food and drink, mentioning her husband would return from the war but as time continued on that excuse became harder to push, and with the men drinking and eating all the food and drink away it was bringing hard to distract their attentions from just trying to seize Penelope and becoming king themselves. The only thing that held them in check was their own ambitions as, even as they revealed in what each man might do if they became king, none of them wanted to share the position or power weapons themselves anyone else.

@Blitzwaffen I talk about it a little bit, but I wandered to decide to either talk about in the last saga or maybe make a deep dive into the subject. I haven't made up my mind. I worry about making videos too long.

@lostfoxerin2324 To be fair most people that watch epic, if they didn't know it, tend to find videos or books to look it up themselves. You could do a side set of videos that does a more in depth comparison and see if it works out before doubling down.

@Blitzwaffen true. Something to think about.

I’ve thought about the idea of watching the 4 hour long movie I watched in high school with Fox and getting his reaction for that, and me reading the book like Fox did, and then the both of us talking about and comparing all 3 versions of this story. That last part wouldn’t happen until Epic is finished, but I think it’d be cool!

Just because I haven’t seen anyone say anything about but in one Greek Myth Penelope yes Odysseus’ wife while he is gone (I think, as far as I know it never specifies) is the mother of Pan who is one of Hermes’ kids and I believe the father of satyrs and where we get the word panic from.

Yay Wisdom Saga! Another wonderful reaction! Excited Yami is the best! LOL Another point in "We'll Be Fine" that I love is that Athena introduces Telemachus to his father note progression from Warrior of the Mind, only for him to not only use it, but change it into something of his own. Love in Paradise is cool too thanks to Athena seeing past events, and I love how you brought up the piano. While I'm not sure we could say she was watching all along, we could say those piano moments may represent when she's taking a look in the past. And woo boy Calypso, most definitely a complex character. I just appreciate that while people have their opinions of her, they all agree that Wangui does a wonderful job as her singer (also I think that song may have the most references to other songs in it). And God Games, what a way to close out the Saga. Glad to see you show her the livestream ending (she's not dead! She's not!... I hope...) and it's impact. Tantrum Zeus be scary! Would love to see Yami's reaction to other animatics to these songs too (Neal's Ilustrator, GiGi, Anni Flamma just to name a few) whether it's an actual video or simply her thoughts in the comments. Haha! Looking forward to seeing the Vengeance Saga reaction when it's all edited and posted!
@YamiBrookeАй бұрын
Fox has put together a playlist of other animatics that he showed me, we have that recorded and will go up in the future, probably after he finishes and posts Vengeance. I can't say which animatics he chose, partly because I don't remember and partly because I will not spoil it!

A thing I've been thinking about Zeus anger, the wife thing is huge however additionally I think there is an issue he has with his daughter's pride in her wits and her champion. I think Zeus has been trying Odysseus since the start to prove him flawed to his daughter. The impossible choices be gives him not letting him use his wits to avoid them are poking at his daughter. When he talks about pride as a damsel and making her kingdom fall he's talking about his daughter imo. The god game is rigged against her those are the gods that sided with Troy(Apollo Temple was sacked by Achilles and he takes direct action in that fight because of it shooting I think big Ajax, Hephaestus loved troys magnificent walls I think, Aphrodite was tied to Paris and Helen and the story you told, Ares loved Hector and the Trojan army hated the Trojan horse as he says in the song, Hera I think was opposed to both sides because of the apple but she generally dislikes heros ( since most are her husband's demigod children) had a history of trying to get them killed. The game was not supposed to be won and Zeus probably a little irked Ody trapped on an island he apprehended him on has not cheated and still wants his wife he's still devoted to his wife and that gets throne into his face and Athena is more proud than ever right in his face. So he smites.

I can see both of these takes being true, either way Zeus is petty and extra and god I hate him but he’s entertaining as heck!
