I stayed there for 5 nights back in March, and it was pretty awful all around. No wifi worth speaking of, so if you have any sort of work to perform, you're out of luck. Anybody can access the elevators -- you don't need a room key and, consequently, there are coupons being shoved under your door multiple times of day/night. Crappy neighborhood all around -- maintain your senses walking towards the Strip. Floors reek of marijuana, but this is not uncommon for really low-end motels. I tried to take the free shuttle to Fremont twice, but it did not show up for service. (I did see it though, and it's a van with a piece of paper taped to the windhield that identifies it as the free shuttle.) The crowd seems pretty cool, and I did enjoy the vibe on the casino floor. No food offerings worth mentioning though.

Not sure what was going on that day but the downtown loop has legitimate busses. I planned to take it to Fremont after I checked out but there were too many people waiting. One bus left and another one pulled up right behind it. The busses hold 20 or so passengers and are completely wrapped in downtown loop graphics. I did get a pizza flyer underneath my door and I forgot to mention that in the video because I hate it when hotels just let anyone roam the halls.

Great video Jordan. I remember staying at the STRAT for my 8th grade spring break Vegas trip back in 2009 in what would be considered the older rooms today & found it to be okay. I also remember really enjoying the rides at the top & the observation deck. When it comes to location, I absolutely agree with you that it is in a bad location & definitely an area that is isolated from the rest of the Strip. I also agree with you that the STRAT offers good value for the money & the renovated rooms look great. Lastly another thing people may not know about the STRAT is that it is one of two hotels on the Strip (with Casino Royale being the other) that is part of Best Western meaning you can get Best Western Rewards Points for staying there.

Great video Jordan! I visited Vegas World when Bob Stupak was running things and it looks like everything is a lot nicer than the Vegas World scene. It was one of the first casinos to offer "crapless craps" which is about as good a deal for the player as triple zero roulette! The Stratosphere is on my bucket list thanks to your presentation! I appreciate your high quality videos and the hard work you put in order to "Show Us Vegas!"

Stayed at the Strat a few times, and since the rebrand/refurb it’s actually very nice, good casino bars, one having live entertainment at weekends. The location is remote to other hotels on the Strip, there is a Deuce bus stop outside the hotel which helps. The neighbourhood is not great, but honestly never had any problems the homeless around the area have never caused me a problem when I have been waiting for the bus or walking back to the hotel. The real problem with the hotel is the check in process, long wait times, unhelpful staff and always understaffed. I’ve actually stopped staying at the Strat for that reason and now always stay Downtown.

I never visited or stayed at the Strat or it’s predecessor, Bob Stupak’s Vegas World in any of my trips to Vegas. Never had an interest to and, back when it was being built, I knew a girl who was a Vegas native and I heard all manner of horror stories regarding its construction. (Stupak was cheap, hired architects with no experience building towers, let alone one that tall. Changed construction firms about midway through. Materials were understrength and just plain weak. A fire on the construction platform as it was being built…) Stupak had financial problems and had to get financial help, who ended up buying him out completely either just before or just after it opened. All in all, it seemed like a good place to avoid.

Strat is where new visitors go to realise nobody else stays. They tack on hefty fees for the fact its a tower and a long way from everything in a real shady part of town. It always seems empty and...dead like a 80s mall nobody goes to anymore. Factor in extra travel time and costs and paying for any view and far more for rides etc. its nowhere near shopping, food or attractions. I would barely recommend a visit not a stay

It's worth noting that there is a free shuttle bus that has a stop at the Strat that goes to Fremont Street and to East Freemont (among other downtown locations). If the hotel were just a little tiny bit closer to The Sahara and the monorail it could be ideally located for somebody that wants to spend time on Fremont and the Strip. As it is though it seems like that would be just a bit out of reach.

You could of mentioned that the Stratosphere design was copied from the Spaceneedle, a Seattle icon still in use built for the 1962 Worlds Fair. The cartoon the Jetsons also copied that same design. However the Stratosphere is twice the height & reinforced with concrete because to build it out from all steel would have been much more expensive. Reenforced concrete was the inexpensive price due to wind & structural requirements.

Great Video , Talking about the Players Club , this must be the only Hotel in Vegas that does not accept an UK Drivers Licence as ID for when applying for a card, Wynn, MGM, Caesars all accept a Drivers Licence , but not The Strat, so anyone from the UK who wants to Gamble this is not a good place to Visit, and the Customer Service person at the Players Club was not friendly at all !

That’s interesting. When I signed up the person at the rewards desk was extremely friendly and helpful.

Was there a garage parking cost ? Since this establishment as you mentioned is in the "sketchy" Fremont St. section is the vehicle parking fee eliminated ?!? BTW - Your Y-T Vegas contemporary "Jacob'sLife" did wander west with his camera after midnight. He kind of seemed rather at ease. Many Thanks Yo ! 🎲 🎲 🔍. - 🤔

Yes, there is a parking fee but unfortunately I don’t know what it is.

Wasn’t it call The Landmark? Customer service is very important to me. I would have asked to speak to the manager. If she doesn’t like her job, then she should leave. She should go work at the Travelodge next door. The room does look nice. I like the view from the top but I don’t want to be in a Disneyland Tea Cup while I am eating. Thank you very much . I hope that you and your beautiful amazing wife ( in case she is reading this) had a great Thanksgiving and that and that the rest of your holiday season is filled with joy and winning slots. manny

Landmark was a much shorter building. Maybe that's the one that was there previously.

No the Landmark was a totally different hotel. It was over on Convention Center Drive.
