honestly, hes pretty damn knowledgable with the game of course, I dont agree with him all the time but who really can always fully agree with another. These are sports opinions and analysis and debating is part of the fun. His comment back in what 2007? stuck with me before the modern run and gun era and position less basketball is that the Positions are just templates that the player is supposed to be based off not what the player is supposed to be exactly and stated that Basketball SHOULD or is supposed to be position less back in 07 But damn his voice is damn annoying as an analyst tho. Him with a marv Albert voice and he would've been a GOAT analyst.

Not one of the most intelligent sport personalities, not one of the most intelligent ex-players, not one of the most intelligent African-Americans, one the most intelligent and insightful PEOPLE in the media today. I came up in the 90’s and rocked the black socks and baggy shorts with pride. I was in crowd to see the Fab 5 beat the Eddie Jones Temple team followed by the Kerry Kittles Villenona squad to reach the Final Four. Watching his journey from then until now has been a privilege. And you can see he really f**ks with Matt and Jack. This was without question one of the dopest interviews they’ve done. Y’all are Killin it. And I love to see it. Salute fellas!

He should get with his production company and try to make a movie or limited series on his life someday. His story is very interesting. From being named the first Jalen in history, him growing up in Detroit during the 80s early BMF era, not knowing his father who was the #1 pick in the 1967 NBA Draft, playing at Michigan with the Fab Five and all the crazy stories behind that, being drafted to the NBA, rising up the ranks to be a respectable player, transitioning in media, almost meeting his father but suddenly dies, the beef between him and C Webb, and starting his academy. His life deserves to be on the big screen for sure.

Hearing Jalen speak on U of M and how they still haven't, and will most likely never, acknowledged them the way they deserve annoys me for only one reason. Chris Webber has tried to tell y'all this forever, yet y'all never wanted to listen. Yes, Webber messed up and was the poster boy for the Michigan scandal. However, he was much more deeper engraved in the culture of the university and has steady said "they don't love us like we deserved to be loved". He's said it in interviews, articles and even on this same podcast; yet they never wanted to listen to him because they thought he was bitter and hating on them. We've seen Michigan basketball return to prominence with 2 championship game appearances, which the Fab 5 attended both times, and hire back Juwan as the coach. We've even seen Jim Harbaugh invite Webber and Rose to football games; yet they still haven't even done anything as little as sell Fab 5 merch from the university. This is certain because U of M is all about their brand, status, prestige and they don't feel like the Fab 5 represents that in any way shape or form. They'll always invite the individuals with status to events and let them represent Michigan as a whole, though the Fab 5's acceptance together will never be seen because your not valued to them that way. The Fab 5 is for the people and has always been for the people, only, and this is what Webber was trying to tell them all these years while they've been trying to get back into the good graces of Michigan this whole time. I just wish they would of listened so Jalen wouldn't have to find out this way, sitting here like he's so appalled as to why they still haven't been recognized yet.
@AnthonyWilliams_833 жыл бұрын
While I feel what you are saying C-Webb has been back on Michigan’s campus. He was the honorary team captain for the football team last season. I don’t agree it’s right. I do believe Michigan will come to its senses and honor the Fab 5 maybe not with putting back up the banners (even though they should) but maybe with a game acknowledgment or even let them on the floor if they ever win a National Championship

23:18 Jalen talks about BMF walking into his high school games at Southwestern in the late 80s to 1991 in the middle of the 1st quarter making a grand entrance like Pac did on Above The Rim is exactly what one of my guys who went there at the time told me when BMF became more mainstream in the early 2000s. I’m from Detroit and was a freshman at another school when Jalen was a senior and so was C-Webb at Country Day High. They were superstars. Jalen was the man on a high school team that had fellow future NBA players Voshan Leonard and Howard Isley with the entire squad getting D1 scholarships. That squad was number 1 in the country and Jalen was the top and most popular guy.

Love the respect they showed Kobe! And don't get it twisted - this is coming from the people that had to actually play against him AND Lebron. Alot of these dudes have PTSD from how Kobe used to light their team up and you can see it when they talk about him. True Legend!!!

Jalen has always been one my favorite analysts because he’s knowledgeable, intellectual, but most importantly… he keeps it real

That Kobe Dwight story is LEGENDARY
@csimien883 жыл бұрын
If anything this just proved Mamba really the truth. Like us as fan’s never hear stories like that. Kobe carrier that team the entire season and it literally broke him only for Dwight to get swept in the first round and jump ship.

Great, interview! I enjoy every show but this one was special. There were so many topics that I could relate to. I remembered immediately the reference to hip hop not being accepted in sports, which would be unthinkable today.

Wow!!! This interview was 🔥 Not just because he played in the NBA, ESPN, etc... I like how he gave back to his community and much more that he don't get respect for. Keep up the great work Jalen! Great work Matt and Stephen on the interview!! Last thing... I didn't know that public schools will not have sports in 20yrs!!!
