I just got back from the Angel Competition Bikinis cruise and my steps and NEAT skyrocketed due to taking sooo many steps! I broke even on the scale when I got back and didn't really restrict myself on the cruise. Walking/movement is amazing! Great info as always, Paul!

Paul I did fasting and lost a lot of weight, but I felt flabby afterward. Now, I've switched to tracking my meals and eating high protein, and I'm getting firmer and more shredded. I now know i can eat anything as long as I track my calories and protein.

I have to track my calories to make sure I get enough. I could easily live on 1200 calories a day which isn't enough to build muscle. Some people do need to track at least in a rough way. I know what the protein I need looks like so I can do that without tracking but I have to keep an eye on calories or I'll never get enough

Walking is King! I see people pushing the fast pace for heart rate, try slow it down half the pace of your normal walk and feel the muscle burn. It doesnt always have to be about cardio, those slow slow walks get your legs jacked.. especially if you go up on your toes each step. You may look silly to others but screw what they think.
@stevengerig624724 күн бұрын
I followed Paul's recommendation to walk an hour a day. I also kept my calories right around 1700 (I'm 5'6). I lost 40 pounds in three months. It works! and walking is great for attitude and overall happiness. Win win

Hi Paul. I’ve about 20 pounds of body fat regain. It was out on fast and as you know. My body composition is terrible compared to what’s was. To get back to that great body composition. Should I aim for the standard 1 pound of a loss each week. Or since it was a fast regain. Is there a benefit to losing only half a pound per week achieve that originally composition. MANY THANKS.

Im 60. 6'3 went from 235 to 255 since Oct 1 when I quit pack a day cigarettes and 4 cups coffee with tons of French Vanilla. I'm hitting the gym hard and regular. Got on Creatine and Protein Powder. No one ever told me about protein for muscle gain and soreness. Not one coach. Anyhoo, Now I hear milk spikes insulin. I have the dreaded beer belly having 2 beers a month. So what do I drink? OJ spikes insulin, Soda obviously. I hate tea as much as yogurt. Help a brother out?
@sbaird7363Ай бұрын
Hi, congratulations to you for your efforts to stop cigarettes. Some thoughts on drinks .. 1) no or low calorie sparkling flavored water (some of these come in cans if you want it to feel more like soda), 2) flavored water like Bai (these actually have a bit of caffeine in them so I drink in am), 3) coffee and add zero calorie flavored syrups (so still getting your morning hot drink but no milk or calories). Hope this helps.

I just read a meta-analysis of 15 published studies that suggested that over the age of 60, 6000 to 8000 steps per day is where the health benefits are maximized

I remember doing prison time (unfortunately) and losing 60lbs not knowing anything about Marco's counting calories or anything like that, I do remember the way/style of eating which was 3 meals a day that they give you and another meal from my commissary which consist of ramen noodles mixed with chips, dry Beans, powder cheese ect and snacks, really not such good food but I still lose weight
