What color grizzly did you get? Although I think getting a V2 would be better than the V3 I always heard. It’s harder to get the front motor off on the newer bikes.

What does unlock mean? Are their instruction on unlocking that come in the cartridge? I have a Trek e-bike and I have to walk it up the Brooklyn Bridge. I pay extra attention to the videos that stress Grizzly's climbing ability.

Normally these come shipped locked at 20 miles an hour… You can unlock the bike and get 30+

Shreddie, I dont think the front battery is the same as the old one.. There were also 2 versions of the V2.. My V2 didnt come with an on off switch on the front battery so I also put my own on/off switch.. Also the power button is different on mine, its actually an upgraded switch..

Sick! I'm so torn between the Spark Bandit and the Grizzly V2 so hopefully we will get to hear your camparison thoughts. I'm leaning towards the Bandit because I think it's more sutable for my size(6'4", 260) and the fact that the Grizzly is on back order. I did contact Spark and they said they have a 52V Bandit coming early Spring so I think I'm going to hold out for that and possibly upgrade the controller to get more speed out of it. If you use a smaller induction coil, there'd be no trouble using loctite red. I wouldn't want to use a blowtorch near a hub motor lol not real healthy for it. When you go to remove the nuts, make sure you tested your induction coil settings on a dead part first - you're trying to dial in 500°F, which is the release temperature of loctite red. 500°F isn't as hot as people think - most kitchen ovens dial up to at least 450°F, I mean, ya gotta be able to make pizza, right? If you spin a bearing your hub will get pretty hot but since you have torque arms and you're not actively trying to wrench the nut your wheel should stay on.

I'm curious...what happened? I ride a Sur Ron XX, and like it a lot. I looked at the Ariel line up for a sec, until I learned the difference between hub & mid-drive, and learned the importance of amp output on the controllers. 30 amps is the V2 (upgraded)? Good lord, my Sur Ron XX controller outputs 150A, and that is still not enough, really
