Shredding Batteries, Large 10+ ton per hour Battery shredder

BCA Industries Model ES2000 shredders being used to shred batteries at the battery recycling facility in the USA. This system can shred 10+ tons per hour of scrap nicad and wet cell batteries. The system consists of a 48" x 60" hinge belt in-feed pit conveyor, 300hp 2" primary shredder, 24' x 24" hinge belt transfer conveyor, 200hp 1" secondary shredder, and 30' x 24" hinge belt final out-feed conveyor. You know right, most countries have laws against shredding lithium batteries. Look at that smouldering mess and fires. I worked for this company that crushed wireless eftpos units with those large lithium battery packs and internal onboard batteries. Sure, the fire wasn't as bad as the one in this video, but the smouldering mess still has gases. I tell you, I was screwed up by breathing that shit in.

Those looked like lots of different batteries, lead, NiCD, hydride, and lithium. Some looked usable. Would make a lot more reselling the good ones.

There's no way you can tell from the video if a battery was usable or not. If they ended up here it was because they were no longer usable. Plus there is great legal risk to a legitimate retailer in selling used batteries.

These are nickel cadmium batteries. and they are melted down to recover their base metals.
