I remember playing this by looking at the loading screen. Yes it was a terrible game. To get rid of the trauma caused by this game, i suggest you play Disney Pixar's UP (PS2), that way you will have a most traumatic experience and forget about the previous one.

When i was kid I spent so MANY hours simply running around this game's world trying to find any of Shrek's friends to escape the sadness and loneliness that this game makes you feel. more so than being concerned with beating all these minigames and such I got this game and Pink panther pinkadelic pursuit on my 6th or 7th bday. I am 24 now

According to Wikipedia, this game was supposed to be developed by Digital Illusions of Sweden, who are now owned by EA. Apparently, they were too busy with porting the XBox Shrek game to the GameCube, leaving Code Monkeys, a British developer, in charge of "Treasure Hunt". Despite the "mediogre" reviews for the game, the audio was pretty great and the graphics resemble the film's to a high degree. Code Monkeys did what they could, and while their efforts may not have born much fruit, the least that can be said is that they gave it their best shot.

Lol. Code Monkeys was one of the worst game studios. They contributed to the PS1 and PS2 releases of animated mock busters published by Midas Gold and Phoenix Games.

This was my first PlayStation game. The music and the ambient world made you get lost in the game. The mini games were hard for me, my sister had to do a few of them for me.

If this game had a different developer, no doubt the game would've been a lot better. Heck, there should've been a Shrek game that accurately followed the first movie on the PS1, PS2, Xbox, GameCube and maybe even N64. Plus, if I were in charge of developing Shrek Treasure Hunt, I'd make it a lot more like Banjo Kazooie with puzzles and better gameplay and of course have Donkey as a playable character. As for the mini games, I'd make them multi player and have other Shrek characters appear since the 3 Blind Mice and the dragon were the only movie characters who appeared in-gane while Fiona only appeared in the ending cutscene.
