I am happy to see I am not the only one who wants more Tai Lung to return for more than 1 minute in a movie that did admirably good for such limited budget. He and Po have so much in common. Being an orphan, raised by tiny cute animal, always wanted to be dragon warrior, worked hard to become kung FU master, the only difference is that that everyone always told Tai Lung he was gonna be the Dragon Warrior, while wveryone kept telling Po he never will. I want him and ask to become friends sooo much.

To be honest. On one hand, Shrek isn’t wrong about Tai Lung being ungrateful for what he had when compared to the people who started off with or got the short end of the stick that he mentioned (Deku presumably, Guts and practically everyone in the 40k verse) but on the other hand, Tai Lung has a genuine reason to why he’s angry. He spent his entire life trying to achieve a goal he dedicated towards only to be told he won’t achieve it. I’d be pissed too.

i honestly still agree with tai lung, as he has every right to be upset. He sounds immature, but what are you to do and act? If i am to work as he said till my bones crack and become a master trained warrior and was told i would become the dragon warrior by my beloved adopted father who knew and was close to oogway who also knew about mw the whole time throughout my life, could have said no that wasn't the case, till I was a full grown adult and said no you're not the dragon warrior. Basically, spent a decade of over working of expecting this thing I was told I was or going to get and now told nah not you fam. I'd be lived. Bringing in the case of rock lee and such is true, and not at the same time. Because it never was to do with the hard work and all Tai long would have still strived to be a strong as he did become fully fine, the only reason it all went south is because he basically as he put was filled his head with dreams of a lie of something he would never get. Rock lee was never told by someone he was going to be the hogaka or something like that, guts never was told he was going to be something. It's not about being dealt a bad hand it's about striving for something and going for it and basically achieved it was told yeah it doesn't matter. Same was as being you go to medical school or something do everything and achieve everything needed to be the best in the field and was told nah it doesn't matter, denied.

Personally, it’s not that he’s ungrateful, at least that’s what I believe. It’s that as a martial artist, power just given to you isn’t satisfying. It’s working to obtain it on your own. Shrek probably doesn’t quite understand that mentality as he himself isn’t a martial artist. He can throw down with the best of them, but he isn’t actually a martial artist. Plus, Tai never actually wanted the scroll, not truly. What he wanted was approval from his father. The scroll was essentially just that in physical form, his father’s approval. He was raised to become the Dragon Warrior, that’s what the most important person in his life hoped for him. But to be denied it, and for his father not to even try to say anything. Anyone would lash out like he did. It’s more of a nurture thing, psychological and all that. It has nothing to do with giving up. Also, all trauma is valid, and shouldn’t be compared, especially to make one of them seem more insignificant. But overall, I liked the video. (Edit: trauma wasn’t the right word, but hopefully you got my point.)

This video brings to mind an important flaw about Tai Lung, Tai Lung wanted to be the dragon warrior more for the title and less what the title might mean, If Oogway had just said ok your the dragon warrior now what? even if you have the title now what use is it to you you aren't a hero you proved that when you assaulted civilians when you got told no to being the dragon warrior, one of the only people who still cares about you is Shifu and you would still strike him down in rage if given the chance even if he apologised, you threw away the faith of the people, your home, your family, your allies,and for what a piece of paper saying your the best? heck if being the best was all you cared about their are many other ways you could have gone to try to get that both good and bad ways, you could have sold your soul to a demon for knowledge, power, or immortality, you could have learned the skills of masters from around the world some of whom could have been better than Oogway, you could have found mystical artefacts to enhance your already incredible skills, and many other ways, but no you only care about getting that specific title
