What is Shri Vidya ?
Sri vidya sadhana is the knowledge of the self, as all the creation is within the self. It's a Mantra, Tantra and Yantra sadhana. It is said that after many births of tapa, you happen to come across a Guru who can initiate you into Shri Vidya.
Sri vidya sadhana is a Deeksha of Supreme Order given by a Self realised Guru, in which you are taught how to connect with the Supreme mother. You are taught to meditate upon shri chakra or maha meru which is the yantra roopa of Ma lalitha tripura sundari, a combined form of Ma Mahakali, Ma Mahalakshmi, and Ma Mahasaraswathi.
Sri Vidya Sadhana is the sadhana of the infinite order. As the name implies it is the worship of “Sri" who is the granter of wealth and “vidya” meaning “knowledge”. It's the knowledge and worship of the mother of the universe,
Shri Yantra is basically part of Shri Vidya method of tantric worship with the aim to obtain definite achievements in worldly and spiritual matters.
Shri Vidya arose as part of great Shakti tradition of Tantra which considers Shakti to be the Supreme object of Worship.
The Sri Yantra's 9 constituent triangles intersect to form 43 smaller triangles, organized in 5 concentric levels. In the middle lies the enigmatic Bindu representing source of Origin of Everything in this Universe as well as realms beyond.
Shri Vidya is part of Shakti tradition of Tantra and not a part of Yogic tradition and as such any application of Yoga or its philosophies on to it is highly disrespectful towards the great tantra tradition.
Why is Shri Vidya (and its Yantra) so important ? Why is the mystery behind it? And why even to this day no one knows its actual tantric rituals to obtain achievements?
The answer to that is Shree Yantra is the Geometrical structure of entire Universe and several hidden realms (both above and below us). You can say that it is the one Yantra in which all yoginis, devis, devatas and all divine realms are situated in it. All bhairavas, yakshinis, and bhoot, pret, and like that all other elementals beings and their mysterious realms lies in it. Anything that is and that will be is inside it.
Shri Yantra is entire COSMOS. So definitely it becomes an extremely significant tool to unlock the mysterious of universe and other hidden worlds which are beyond our reach. This is the only Yantra which is given the title of Yantra Raj i.e. Emperor of All Yantras
Goddess Tripur Sundari (Also called Raj Rajeswari or Lalitha) is the Governess and Patron of this secret knowledge. A true sadhaka in shakti tradition of tantra can obtain infinite divine powers through its Tantric sadhna that is why such sadhnas are kept secret and hidden from general masses.
By changing items of worship, secret mantras, place and astrological time in worship of this same Shri Yantra various marvelous divine powers of Goddess are obtained which are beyond imagination.
With Rudrakha and some other different items when its sadhna is done for 1 month then one gets the siddhis of Pishacha. Then like that different items are offered and sadhna done to obtain various divine powers like Betaal, Maaya Siddhi, Power to see past and future, gandharv, Naag kanya, Apsara etc etc. Even kundalini can be awakened by it,after all kundalini is also a Shakti only.
As I said with this Tantric sadhna which comes under shree Vidya one can obtain infinite powers.
It is not without any reason that this knowledge is considered extremely secret that needs to be guarded jealously. The ancient scriptures warn about the same. Scriptures advice to give up your life, your kingdom but do not share this secret with anyone, not even to one’s own son.

Yes,definitely In my opinion,as I observed myself only, I was not firmly devoted to a particular devata earlier,which resulted in switching of the deities frequently. Ask to yourself that why do you want to do mantra japa? If you want quick results out of it and want to stabilize your life then consulting a Guru is suggested why? An able Guru has plenty of pran shakti and other physically unrealisable powers so when he gives you the mantra then it is already upgraded to a version that you will be able to do only after consistent practice of some years. If you're devoted to that Guru,then it also helps you to concretize your devotion to the mantra devata. it is advisable to find a Guru but you should be aware of Trust but verify ideology. Normally to unlock any mantra 1 lakh 25000 mantra chanting is required without any desires. After that, sometimes ten thousand mantra chanting & sometimes more will be required for a particular desire fulfilment. Normally if you take mantras which a guru is reciting from that guru then you will have to work less. But in kalyug, as there are mostly false gurus running after their desires (money etc). So you can find out a mantra in the religious texts and understand it completely by reading books or online or listening. And believe on whats written in religious texts firmly. Then slowly your faith will develop & mature & then even without human guru you can achieve success because that religious book or text will act as your guru. For example all Sikhs are ordered by Guru Gobind Singh to consider Guru Granth Sahib as their guru. Similarly the religious books or text contains information & blessings of the original guru. Also note that Lord dattatreya in his another avadhuta gita has 24 gurus such a crocodile, air, bees etc. He learned from them. Do note that Eklavya had no human guru & he made Guru Dronacharya statue as guru & still he was better than Arjun who had the same human Guru Dronacharya. In his Jeevanmukti Gita shloka 12, lord dattatreya has mentioned that the soul is the guru. I would recommend that you consider the religious texts or knowledge like Shiv Shiva, Bhagavad Gita or Lord Krishna or any other as your guru. Just like Sikhs have Guru Granth Sahib with 26 gurus & their gurbani (guru’s text or knowledge). If you couldn't find good guru make god as your guru because all knowledge & all religious book’s knowledge are from the one god. But people have modified the religious texts. So the common knowledge of various books is the truth. Om Namah Shivaya

The bīja ka is the root of kāma bīja klīṁ (क्लीं). ka also bestows peace and prosperity to the sādaka. The next bīja e prevents misfortunes to the sādaka. ī bestows wealth and all good things to sādaka. The bīja la gives victory to the sādaka. Thus, the first four bīja-s give peace, prosperity, prevention of misfortunes, auspiciousness and a status like Indra. This means victory to sādaka in every step he puts forward. To purify and activate Mooladhara,Swadhistana,manipooraka,Anahata,Visiddhi,Ajna Chakras different adhistana dieties and mantra are there. What you are chanting is Panchadasi Sadhana at Ajna Chakra. So it's not the general way for all to chant this. There's no rishi, Kara Anganyasa,dhyana,lamityadi panchopachara pooja. Straight away chanting. What's this. ? .
