Not many people like this method mainly because it doesn't look pretty to have a big box with soil in your tank and you cant use rooted plants because not much soil at the bottom

@@RWAquariumPages I've noticed that no mater how many times you repeat yourself some people still going to ask you that question you just answered in the videos over and over again. So if I make a video on the same topic once again it normally perform as well as the old one. So it worth to repeat popular topics from time to time. When I'm going to cycle new tank in a few weeks I'll probably film it again😆

Glad you liked it. Normally I add bacterial powder at the start and then I add small amount every week for maintenance.
@superjaz18103 жыл бұрын
@@ShrimpMania thank you, I will see if I can find that powder. I use BacterAE at the moment but I still struggle to keep baby shrimp alive. Probably about 20% survival. I don't see much visible biofilm in the tank now. The tank is 7 months old.
@ShrimpMania3 жыл бұрын
@@superjaz1810 I used Bacter AE before and it works good as a supplement food for baby shrimp but I never had that green dust algae on the grass from it. It also depends on the soil and amount of the light. When you use good active soil it release some fertilizers to the water and with good light you should have that green/brown algae start to growing on the glass. The powder should also help.

1UGF can up to 70 liters, that's a lot of soil we can save using this method, I wonder why some people still use the 3cm bottom soil method, that cost a lot 🤔

How long does UGF last before you have to clean it? Or you dont clean, just reset?

I don’t clean them normally. Sometimes if i see a lot of dust at the bottom i suck it out with the hose but i only done it twice. I haven’t restarted them yet. The oldest filter is 18 months still buffering ph to the optimal level

This Month I'm setting 6 tank using this UGF Method that you recommend from the previous video about UGF Box too, 2 40x30x30 tanks & 4 40x22x30 tanks, is it necessary to add sponge filter in that tank size? and what is the purpose of sponge filter when you had the UGF filter?
@ShrimpMania3 жыл бұрын
That's a huge project you have! Good job! If you can share some photos on my fb page that would be great. For the sponge filter - the only reason I'm adding it is for polishing the water to the crystal clear state. Ugf often spill some dust from the bottom to the water column and sponge will be filter the dust
