I play very similar deck, you can still play golos in the 99, I also like the Esika Bridge to get creature shines, golos or the shrine tutor creature.

Tamiyo's Safekeeping and Heroic Intervention could be considered, since they protect all permanents, not just creatures, preventing removal on your Sanctum of All or other shrines for much cheaper than Kyodai (plus it works against exile effects too, since it's hexproof as well as indestructible)

Another day - another amazing video. Always loved shrines and other enchantment or artifact based "slow and steady build-yourself-unstoppable engine" decks and this is a really good one, it just wild how they spiral out of control if you get even 2-3 right shrines out. And, as always - beatiful plays, first Dino match was just an awesome turnaround stuff, as they say "1=30(or in this case 25)", life is an resource and while you have >0 - then you still fine.

Not so sure about that, it's not a very good companion and you're often better off using your mana in other ways than paying the companion tax and casting it. Time warp might not be key but it is very powerful, especially so in this deck with all the shrine triggers.

Starfield Mystic was one of the last few cuts. Even Jukai Naturalist isn't all that amazing since our Enchantment count isn't as high as I would like it to be, but at least it's an Enchantment to trigger our other synergies.

Cuz when all I played was niv reborn I just faced other crazy 5 colored decks and a few 2 colors. I wish it didn't have to be like that but I guess the 5 colored ones can be too busted for some decks to handle

Awesome, I'd been hoping you'd play something like this since Kamigawa released! I made a Shrines deck a while ago with Jegantha as the Commander. He's not amazing but he's very good at casting Sanctum of All and sometimes that's all you need, lol. My version was pre-Kamigawa though so I haven't tried the new creature Shrines (and it also was more controlling, with very few creatures and lots of wraths). I want to try something closer to your version now, it looks pretty fun and it has multiple cards I hadn't considered before.

I’ve been playing tons of Brawl with a full on enchantments deck, like the one your opponent played. It’s less controlling but very explosive. I’ll try going back to mostly Shrines with some picks I missed. I also pulled Kyodai on pre so I’ll try making a commander shrine deck, sadly the shrine commander is way too expensive around these parts :(

I'm not 100 percent sure, but when in the general play queue (unranked games), the matchmaking seems to have something to do with who is playing similar cards to you. There are way more mirror-ish games in unranked because of it.

I think it's still only a subtype for Enchantments but could be wrong. Playing Maskwood Nexus is the easiest way to find out.

It's an option, although the Enchantment count isn't quite high enough for it to hit consistently and the removal ability can be risky when a lot of enchantment removal is being played.
