Hi Danny, thanks for your comment. We do not recommend using an electric heat gun to shrink our shrink wrap. Shrink wrap shrinks at 275 degrees Fahrenheit, for that reason we suggest using propane-fired heat tools which put out more power. Propane-fired tools are the best method of heating our thick shrink wrap in a timely fashion. Electric heat tools do not have the capability of heating large sections of shrink wrap at a time so the finished covers are not tightly shrunk. The propane fired heat tools that Dr. Shrink supplies put out up to 300,000 BTUs of power. You can view our selection on our website at www.dr-shrink.com/shrink-wrap/heat-tools

What are your thoughts about preventing snow load?
@drshrinkmarketing3 жыл бұрын
Hi Capt. Craig, thank you for your comment. Generally on RVs, you do not need to worry about snow loads as there's no dips in support. If it's something you're concerned about, you can make a support structure to make a pitch in the wrap so that the snow will slide off. If you have any other questions, please let us know. Feel free to call 800-968-5147 or email us at drshrink@dr-shrink.com

What about mildew? Would you have an issue with mildew in the interior? This would be the best protection if it was cost effective vs a regular rv cover
@MYCHANNELWITHMYSTUFF5 жыл бұрын
Not really cost effective vs a regular RV cover but its about the same price as putting your RV into covered storage every year. RV cover is re-usable whereas this isn't. At 2019 prices its $14 per linear foot to have someone do it for you. if you do it yourself its the cost of the materials. Keep in mind though that a quality heat gun as seen in this video costs between $500 and $800. You're not going to heat shrink your RV with a hair dryer.

Make sure both inside and out have been cleaned. This will help insure mildew never gets started. Also use a VCI imbedded shrink wrap. Then for good measure put 3 bags, depending on size of camper, of desiccate inside of camper. Used this method when we wrapped machinery parts to be shipped and stored outdoors. Ended 99% of our customer rusting complaints.

Hi What kind of heat shrink do you used for this trailer?
@drshrinkmarketing5 жыл бұрын
Thank you for your comment. We used a 7-mil white shrink wrap on this trailer. Our 7-mil is the standard thickness for shrink wrapping either boats/RVs/trailers for storage.

Can this be done using an electric heat gun, and a lot of patience?
@jeremyspecce6 жыл бұрын
Danny Russo I know this is 2 years old but just for future readers, I did it once and it took FOREVER. One of the issues is that the electric heat guns usually applies the heat by blowing air. The blowing air tended to STRETCH the wrap from the force of the air instead of letting it shrink up.
