Water barely needs any resources depending on the complexity(waves, reflection) Grass meanwhile takes a good chunk of computing power especially when it has effects like moving in the wind The impact can usually be reduced by using a LoD(Level of Detail) which makes further away objects like grass invisible or removes effects like the moving in the wind which might make enemys visible which shouldn't be visible and that is why they probably didn't optimize it like that

Maybe introduce a Casual, Ranked, and Competitive game "mode"/type. The whistling can be heard on casual and ranked but the red zone appears on the competitive types, ya know? I like the idea of more immersive survival in games like this, makes it PvE without the use of need of NPC's, players versus environment is awesome. Thank you for this visual

For the Fps, they explained that Erangel landscape was hand made, which makes it not optimized at all, all the rocks, trees and so on have too many vertices. This one was made with a kind of map generator that optimizes the amount of calcul needed as well.

Gnipzy it's confirmed that we're getting a snowy map. I love the new map, and I honestly think they did incredible with it. Just give it time and keep an open mind when learning the map, and you'll start to like it too. New map are perfect for games like this.

it really depends on your playstyle. If you camp a lot and focus on looting houses instead of other players you will win way more often, than agressive players who always look for fights. But how worthy can a chicken dinner with 1 kill be, after youve been laying on the ground for 20 minutes :D I personally prefer to win like a few times a week but having like 10+ kills then because i looked for fights^^
