21:47 Sigma is actually a tool not the leader Back when he was normal he was an astrohphysicist intressed in harnessing the power of gravity. In an experiment gone wrong he was exposed only for a moment to a black hole but he suffered extreme physical damage, he started hearing voices and music in his head and kept going about knowing the pattern of the universe plus there were constant gravitic anomalies happening around him, he was locked up in a secret facility for his and others well being. Talon (the bad organization that characters like Reaper or Widowmaker are part of) found out about his existence and they infiltrated the facility and broke him out to use his powers for themselves. They helped him control his powers and he's not able to control gravity at his will and Talon is basically using him as a weapon and because of Sigma's mental unstability he isn't even aware of it which is for me the saddest part as from a lot of ingame interactions you can learn he's actually a very cool and nice guy. In terms of ingame stuff too whenever you use his skills/ult you can hear very quiet murmus, music or some speaking in reverse which really adds to how cool and terifying his situation is

In the Origin story for Kiriko, Kiriko's mother trains Genji and Hanzo as well, Genji being the one to get his head hit. Hence your comment that she and Genji were similar, they're all trained by her mother. Kiriko kept up with Kunais, Genji used his sword, and Hanzo.... Well, after having to cut down Genji as you might have heard from his and Genji's conversation in "Dragons", He put down the blade. One of his in game voices lines does mention he was better with it.

McCree's name was changed to Cassidy back in 2021, and his name is Cassidy in-game to reflect this also, the robot that Cassidy released is named Echo, a hero that released in 2020 (2 years after the cinematic dropped)

Hey dude so, a few corrections in terms of the lore and some insights. Brigitte is not Reinhardt's daughter, she's his squire. She's actually Torbjorn's daughter. Torbjorn and Reinhardt are good friends due to some of the events that happened to them. When she was born Brigitte was named as Rein's goddaughter, and having grown up hearing about his adventures she wanted to train as his squire, repairing his armor, and Reinhardt himself when needed. Sombra is very much in things for herself. Any allegiance she portrays is usually just to help her get what she wants with a couple of exceptions. Chiefly among them is Sigma, who is not the leader of Talon, but is a genius scientist Talon coopted to do research for them. He has a fractured psyche and is mentally unstable, likely being exploited by Talon for his research. Sombra seems to have a genuine care for his wellbeing and is one of the few relationships in-game that she is actually giving rather than expecting something in return. Genji Hanzo and Kiriko all trained together while growing up. You can actually see a young Genji and Hanzo in her origin story, and it was her mother that trained her alongside the two brothers. The Shimadas were a crime syndicate family in Japan, with Hanzo as the eldest son next in line to run it all. His younger brother Genji however caused a great deal of issues for the clan being generally aloof and dismissive of the family's business preferring to hang out in arcades and partake in a party boy lifestyle. Hanzo often protected him but in time Genji's antics became too much and the syndicate demanded Hanzo confront and deal with his brother once and for all. Their meeting resulted in bloodshed with the two brothers fighting in their family dojo (The same place the cinematic takes place, note the broken sword and the blood-stained wall scroll). Hanzo being the better swordsman won the battle, leaving Genji so mutilated and broken that he presumed him dead. Enraged at the loss of his brother Hanzo returned to the syndicate and laid waste to everything dismantling the Shimada clan and leaving a power vacuum within the Japanese underworld which the Hashimoto eagerly took advantage of. After that Hanzo forsook the sword forever swearing to never use a blade again hence why he now uses a bow. Genji would be found by agents of Overwatch who were in Japan to investigate the Shimada clan to begin with. Nearly dead, Dr. Angela Ziegler was able to save his life with the aid of mechanical enhancements making him part man and part machine. In part gratitude, and as a means of being spared imprisonment Genji would join Overwatch's secret division known as Blackwatch lead by Reaper, but he was not part of the betrayal that brought Overwatch down, nor was Cassidy (McCree). Many of the characters in the game have a very morally grey standpoint in terms of allegiance or motivation, so one has to look at the more obscure info on them to get a full understanding of what motivates their actions.

sombra is not really on anyone's side, she just joins up with anyone she can benefit from working with. she believes there are certain individuals or groups who have total authority over every government and corporation in the world, and her only goal is to find out who they are, what their weaknesses are and how they can be manipulated so that she becomes the one in control. she only joined up with talon (the group widowmaker and reaper are in) because of the groups resources and contacts.

7:19 Fun Fact: IT IS possible to deflect Hanzo's Dragons, you just need to time it super right. Hanzo launches an arrows infront of him AND THEN the dragons appear. If you deflect the arrow BEFORE the dragons appear, you are able to deflect the dragons and kill Hanzo's team which is.. amazing. Edit: 50:34 Another fun fact: In Japanese legends, when a girl is possessed by a fox spirit, all they eat is sugary treats cus thats what the fox spirit wants. Thats why Kiriko can survive just by eating doughnuts every single day, its thanks to her fox spirit friend =)

In the backstory animation for Sombra, it wasn't so much that they "rebuilt" her as much as she got caught hacking the wrong people. But rather than kill her, they hired her and offered her upgrades. That's actually how a lot of hackers start work at places they hack lol. She said at the end of it though that she was going to keep going and find out who's really behind everything, "Then I'll be the one pulling the strings." Yes, they changed McCree's name to Cassidy I think, because Jesse McCree was named after one of the Blizzard employees who got busted for sexual assault, or at least that's what I heard. All that stuff happened after I stopped playing the game so I don't really know.

Hanzo and Genji were originally designed as one character who swapped between their weapons. They thought that was a bit much so they split up the abilities and made two different heroes and made them brothers. Hanzo even has a voice line in game referencing his time with a sword.

Lucio-Os is indeed a real cereal. It isnt sold anymore, it was more around the time OW1 was still kinda new. but i have an unopened box sitting on my bookshelf :P it wasnt too bad, it was basically just vanilla flavored fruit loops. but every box came witha code that would temporarily boost your EXP gain and double the lootboxes you obtained from leveling for a while. Also, incase no one mentioned it, Ramattra is the leader of Null Sector, an Omnic Organization bent on destroying humanity to bring peace to Omnics.

There are currently (at time of writing) 37 Heroes in Overwatch to play as. The original Overwatch launched with 21 characters, and a further 11 were added over time. 3 new characters launched with Overwatch 2, and 2 more have been added since launch. More are apparently in the works. With this number of characters and the long time required to create cinematic wonders like Rise and Shine and Shooting Star, it's no wonder that not every character has a cinematic. That said, the lore for the characters exists in motion comics, comics, short stories, in-game, origin stories and more. Overwatch has a large history with many hundreds of Heroes, and as more are added to the game, the story gets more layers, more enriched.

For reference Reaper, widowmaker, somber, and sigma are all on a team called Talon which is run by a group of leaders, one of them being Doomfist. They believe that plunging the world into conflict and war will make humanity stronger (at least doomfist does) reaper was brought back to life by Moira when he “died” in the overwatch HQ explosion. Widowmaker was a normal person who was brainwashed by talon and ended up killing her newly wed husband in his sleep. And sigma is also brainwashed to talon in somewhat the same way. Black watch was a separate division that was apart of overwatch and was a team of led by Gabriel Reyes (who we know as reaper) with mccree (or Cassidy), Moira, and Genji. So Genji and Mccree never technically betrayed overwatch.

I just wanted to say, while it still definitely sucks that there isn’t more skin tone variation in genshin, genshin is made by a Chinese company, and as of now in China, the “beauty standard” there is to be fair skinned, and they are trying to appeal to that for their target audience. I’m not at all trying to excuse the lack of diversity but I’ve seen a lot of people completely disregard the fact that while we still have a LONG way to go in terms of acceptance, we are still fairly accepting as Americans compared to many other places and we can’t fully expect the same results from companies that, for lack of a good way to say this, don’t care about the American standard of people. The characters are all obviously designed to be “attractive” to their Chinese audience first and foremost, it sucks but it’s the truth. Have a great day blaze!

i would love watching you react to all Honkai Impact cinematics if you haven't already seen them. Even tho it's made by the same as Genshin, the quality is so much higher on the cinematics than Genshin is.
