I was about to say to wrap the poles 4x before putting on the cover but somebody beat me to it. This was very well done...coming from someone who has made the 3-pole style for 4 decades now. Made me subscribe to see what else you have. Pilamaya and Miigwech.,

What a wonderful educational video. How may I purchase a tipi learning kit. I would love to teach my grandchildren . Does it explain the meaning of each pole (respect, humility, etc.)? Thank you for sharing this information.

should you wrap all the poles at top another 4 times wrap before you put last pole with cover on it?

The three poles (foundation) are tied together with a clove hitch, with about 4 feet of tail on one end. This tail is wrapped 4 times around and then the two tails are tied together with a square knot. After the foundation is raised and the other poles are placed in the appropriate positions, the remaining long tail is brought out at the south foundation pole and is walked clockwise around while pulling tight. Four revolutions are made. On the end of the fourth wrap, go past the south pole, go into the cone and out on the left side of the north pole, turn around and go back into the center again on the left side of the north pole. Pull tight and stake down inside. All of this is done before the lifting pole with the cover is put in place in the open space on the back side, pulled around and pinned together.

What tribe is that from I wonder? My tripod goes up differently and I also know how to put up a quadpod type as well. I'm just curious as to what tribe does this come from?
