If Jimmy Page takes the time, effort and $ to fly from England to Japan to show Mr. Jimmy Sakurai some love, respect and genuine praise, than clearly Mr. Jimmy Sakurai deserves AT LEAST a thumbs up 👍🏼

Wish I could have met him, when he played for Jason Bonham's band when they opened for peter Frampton, in Chicago this past summer was lucky enough to get a front row seat, but not a backstage pass...first time I've seen both bands. But missed the first 2 opening numbers, because I had to go through the metal detectors as usual....great show though....keep up the good work J.S. ...wish you could come back to Chicago....with your own band.

I'm just imagining Page that night, probably holding back a few tears at not only hearing how much heart Mr. Jimmy put in his creations, but just being transported back to a time we ALL know he misses so much, when he was without question the greatest guitarist on the planet.

Just have to wonder what was going on in Jimmy's mind to see and hear somebody that looked like him, moved like him and played like him. Imitation is the most sincerest form of flattery.

This musician is keeping the Led Zeppelin experience ongoing for those individuals who were not able to see the band perform live. The live experience is another important aspect of the music along side the wonderful compositions preserved on record. Just like you would go see a performance of Chopin’s music by a professional pianist, Jimmy is doing the same for Led Zeppelin. And he’s doing it at the highest standard possible that his talent and work ethic will allow. You can’t ask for more than that.

Being a Led Zeppelin nut since a little kid. I was inspired by Jimmy Page to play guitar. I got a call 3 years ago that Robert Plant wanted to do a surprise show in New Orleans before playing an arena the following night. I was suggested to play with him. 10am in the morning knowing about it all day I could not tell anyone. About 9 pm he came into a packed club called BJs here and he was ready to start to sing. Wow. My Hero right there next to me. No Zeppelin songs only Blues. For close to 2 hours we played with other members of his band and me on guitar next to him the whole time. He rocked my back like he did with Jimmy I was literally in Heaven. A huge smile on my face the whole show. After we did the last number he said That was fun mate. We hung out back of the club for about 30 minutes until he and his entourage had to leave. It was refreshing to talk abut life and not just music. An amazing event in my life. :)

Jimmy Page, a totally gracious and encouraging mentor! Mr. Jimmy knocked it out of the park, what a tribute. I just came across this video on Facebook, so I went to KZbin and watch this video, the video is awesome. I had a smile on my face almost the whole time watching the video. Seeing Jimmy Page rocking out, clapping hands, and even standing ovations. Jimmy looks so happy to meet you. Dazed and confused was amazing and I could tell Jimmy was well pleased. Since I've been loving you was great, I wish I could have heard the whole song that's my favorite Led Zeppelin song. I saw you Jimmy when you were with LEDZEPAGAIN I do believe it was in Newport Beach several years ago in California. You are fantastic. My wife and I met Jimmy Page we flew to London to see the Led Zeppelin 02 to arena concert in 2007, the concert was amazing My dream comes true to see Led Zeppelin. When we met Jimmy Page, he was very friendly and polite, I got to take a photograph with him. Led Zeppelin forever! Armando from California 8.16.23
I found the Japanese philosophy in the beginning very interesting. It puts Jimmy Sakurai in context as a true admirer and dedicated follower of Zeppelin and Page. Not just an actor playing a historical character.

One of the things Jimmy Page would do in Tokyo in particular was to go the record shops to find bootlegs of live shows. Some shop keepers would hide the bootlegs thinking that he was angry, but actually he wants to find every archived live recording he can. Jimmy Sakurai is living many guitarist's dream of just *being* Jimmy Page. So cool!

This is true! He loves collecting all the LZ boots. Somewhere online is a pic of him standing with the owner of the Empress Valley boot company. Jimmy loves this stuff and seems to have never been angry with those who are trading his old shows.

What a great story. I've seen both Jimmys play live. Mr. Page with The Firm, at the ARMS benefit for Ronnie Lane, in the 80s, and with Robert Plant on their first 'Unledded' tour, and Jimmy Sakurai with his former band, Led Zepagain. Having not seen Page during his youth, with Led Zeppelin, I feel like Jimmy Sakurai is about as close as one can get to the real thing. He is an amazing player and his attention detail, and the obvious reverence for the music that he displays makes each show special. The current version of Led Zepagain, with their new guitarist are still quite good and I've also enjoyed them on several occasions. While still a great Zeppelin show, with Jimmy S. they were unbeatable on the tribute band circuit. That Page has given 'Mr Jimmy' his seal of approval, in addition to the fact that he is currently playing lead guitar for Jason Bonham's Led Zeppelin Experience provides extra proof of his incredible prowess. If you ever get a chance to see him perform live, I'd strongly urge you to do so. He will absolutely blow your mind. Carry on with the great music, Mr. Jimmy!

I saw Zep back in MSG in 70's a few times.....then again with Page/Plant tour 94-95, Jimmy Sakurai has studied & captured the essence of JP live riffing, shredding & presence on stage. His uncanny sense of timing, eclectic style, spontaneous energy, stance, approach.....all mirror Jimmy's best live work. It is a worthy lifetime achievement. To meet & be evaluated by the master himself must be incredible honor.....for both men. long live JP....long live Jimmy Sakurai.

I agree with you Michael. I'm 63 now and been a Page and Zep fan since I first heard them. When I was 12 my cousin played Heartbreaker and Livin' Lovin" Maid and I haven't looked back. I love all the guitar greats but something about Jimmy seems to put him a head above the rest, even Hendrix, SRV, and Clapton. Btw, I saw Clapton in 1978 in Portland, OR. Cost me $8.50, lol. I've been playing or I should say playing with a guitar since I was 5. I have 9. I can play Stairway from beginning to end but it sounds nothing like Jimmy, lol. This guy is great. Can you imagine playing Zep songs in a small venue with Jimmy watching you. Wow!!! Nuff said.
