水上舞獅特別難，因為樁柱會受空氣間的濕度變得濕滑，所以就算平日訓練如何純熟，有時難免會出錯。表演成功者更是難能可貴！精彩！！ Lion dance on columns above water is extremely hard due to slippery columns, which are caused by damp vapours in the air. Brilliant performance of everyone, bravo!!

⁠@@lrl5255 I don’t think it’s simply a training issue. There are unknown factors from the environment like humidity levels and even though there are sandpaper surfaces for the footing poles, water does reduces the friction and it’s reliability.

Maybe it is a challenge for the dancers to perform this traditional dance over water? Maybe it is the dancers way to evolve this traditional dance to a "new" level taking the dance unto a new environment? Somehow, when the Lion misses the pole and falls to the ground, the dancers are able to quickly stand up, pick up the Lion costume, bow and move on. It doesn't seem so bad. But seeing a couple of the teams fall into the water, the Lion floating like it was dead!!! The team being scooped up by life guards! It seemed so wrong. My heart sank into sadness seeing this. The fallen teams who carry on this wonderful traditional dance, with much practice and skill, with lack of luck, dismounting from a fall (no one is perfect) should not have to get "WET", they deserve Respect for carrying on this beautiful traditional dance. Maybe I'm wrong. I love the Lion dance the way it was, on the ground

Fyi ,there are water ,bridge crossing category ,rarely performed in public because it takes lots of effort to prepare least perform since there are many risks involved . It is a privilege to watch this gutsy ,highly skillful performance .Well done .Thanks for sharingski

@@Raymond7383 with respect, it is, for me always a privilege to watch these athletes perform this wonderful dance, be it on ground or over water. It is just my personal preference to see it performed over land instead of water, but both are still amazing and wonderful, and I applaud all who perform this traditional dance.
