Art is ahead of its time. This composer has opened up unlimited possibilities for the music of the future. And while you're listening, you don't expect how the next part will proceed, but it gives you countless imaginations.
Contemporary classic’s still stands at the edge, without doubt… But blindly resisting it isnt the answer. Bach, Beethoven, then Berlioz, Wagner, they didn’t create those greatest monumental moments in human history by staying within a settled frame, the comfortable area of hearing apparatus. They discovered new possibilities and push forward. That’s exactly what contemporary composers should do - and what we, as contemporary enjoyers, should strive for (still a long way to go myself tho lol). Perhaps, beneath our wry smiles of “太现代了”, the Tristan chord, the Faune, and the Zwolftonmusik of our time is already waiting, just waiting for us to truly hear it.
(Break your bow)(Smash your piano)(Suddenly stand up and shout out loud, furiously)(Cry and leave the stage)(ReLeAse tHe PenGuIn)
