Chairman Railway Board (CRB) is the highest bureaucrat in Indian Railways. CRB is the Ex Officio Principal Secretary .. CRB ke just neeche Railway Board Members hote hain like Member (Traffic), Member (Engineering), Member (Electrical) etc. Iske neeche aate hain Zonal GMs. Zonal GMs ki rank Additional Secretary to Govt of Inida ki hoti hai, aur Member Railway Boards ki rank Secretary to Govt of India ki hoti hai.. CRB generally Member Railway Boards mae sae he koi ek promote ho kar bante hain par under certain circumstances Zonal GM mae sae bhi directly promote ho kar CRB bann sakte hain.. Chahe CRB ho, Member Railway Boards ho ya fir Zonal GMs ho inn sabka appointment APPOINTMENTS COMMITTEE OF CABINET karti hai jise head PRIME MINISTER karte hain..

CRB Acts as the secretary to the Govt of India. CRB k liye minimum 34+ years of Class A officer ki service Indian Railway ko ddni pdti hai. Jisme starting ka post Assistant Divisional Engineer(ADEN) hota hai. Fir bohot zyda high level post hota hai promotion k through like SrDEN, Chief Bridge Engineer, Chief Track Engineer, Principal Chief Engineer. Har batch ka koi ek excellent officer hee CRB tak pahuch pata hai.
