Roy is one of my all time heroes. I’ve seen him play guitar,Banjo,fiddle,Dobro,mandolin, tuba,harmonica and I don’t know what else. He once said he could “get by” with nine different instruments but could play more than that.

No, Buck only played with Roy for about 7-8 years. They recorded some good music and entertained the world. We miss him.

I can't believe all the comments about the tuba. 1) he was terrific... a virtuoso! 2) the tuba was the bass.. it was theeee instrument in that performance. If you only knew how difficult his part was, you woujld appreciate him more! Who was the tuba player? Don't know, do we! What a shame. he was marvelous!

I bet Roy Clark could play ANY musical instrument as good as The Greatest Player of that instrument. He could probably play a piano as good as Liberace AND Jerry Lee Lewis.

I was in the audience that day. I am sitting to the left with the in a white T Shirt, Black Hair, greased back hair..with that curl hang in the middle there. Thats me. Finally got out of that business. Now I am a preacher. Got 5 kids and 3 wives. Oh I shouldnt have said that, they will throw me in again. Got 5 kids a wife and a dog named Elvis. Elvis come here boy! Come here!...tell these good peoples here on TVnet what you thank of Uh Shuckin that Corn boy. Bluuuuuuuuue! No not Blue Christmas! Elvis likes Elvis folks. Sorry bout that. Time for me to go now, before they catch me again. Boy that Roy could shuck that corn. Thats not we called it in prison though, but that was a long time ago before I found the lord. Go to church on Sunday now, Bluuuuuuuuue!

Judging from the attire of the audience (all of them men), this video appears to have recorded in a prison. If so, my respect for Roy Clark (and Buck Trent) just went up even higher.

Most likely Stan Freese on the tuba. Stan was part of the Hee Haw band and has several videos on here.
